#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:
Nicky Youre/Dazy - Sunroof (1 of 3 weeks at #1)
This Week's Mover and Shaker:
I'm so pleased to see Nicki Minaj/Ice Spice/Aqua - Barbie World (+7) take the biggest jump to the Top 20. This deserves to be in there! And I'm really hoping that it should go to the Top 10 soon.
Toosii - Favorite Song took the biggest drop for the second week in a row which I'm fine with. But what's also tied for the biggest drop this week which I'm super pleased about is Post Malone - Chemical (-6). This deserves it! And I'm sure hoping that it should be out of here soon.
New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:
Kaliii - Area Codes: Of course she actually changed her stage name from Kali because most people thought she was Kali Uchis at the point which was interesting. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. With my opinion, the production was super amazing, Kaliii's vocals were so phenomenal and her verses flow very nicely, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was super phenomenal. Let's see how this one does on there.
Zayn - Love Like This: He has finally made his return on there after 5 years off of making new music. As far as this new song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song. Though definitely not as good as Let Me, but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion on this song, the production was super amazing, Zayn's vocals were so phenomenal, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was super phenomenal. Hopefully this should do well on there.
Jain - Makeba: We have a French singer making his debut on there, which was interesting. And I've noticed that this song was actually released in 2015 and it has gone viral recently. That was 8 years late for this song to be on there. But I gotta say, this is just a decent song. There really isn't anything interesting to say about it. Though my main issue about the song is the production and the overall vibes because they don't actually sound good at all here. But Jain's vocals actually sound pretty good here and the lyrics were still so interesting. Although I could say that the chorus sounded decent here. But yeah, this is decent overall. Let's see how far this gets on there.
Doja Cat - Paint The Town Red: The best debut this week. So she recently put out a new album, and I know Attention has been #1 on the Hot 100 recently which was amazing. As for this new song, it's definitely heavenly and it's definitely the best song that I've ever heard from her. It's definitely a huge step up from Attention and all of her other songs. With my opinion on this song, the production was so heavenly and super fun, Doja's vocals were super heavenly, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a humongous fan of, and the chorus was extremely heavenly. This is definitely going to end up in my Top 5 Songs of the year. Hopefully this should become a hit on there.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. Fifty Fifty - Cupid: This is now their first ever Top 5 appearance on there. I'm so pleased to see that! Though I'm not sure if it'll go to the Top 3, but I'm sure hoping it does.
4. Miguel - Sure Thing: This song sure must've been enjoying the Top 5 on there. And yes, I'm sure this is definitely going to stay in there for a few more weeks longer.
3. Olivia Rodrigo - Vampire: I'm so pleased to see this song in the Top 3. This really deserves to be in there! And I'm sure hoping that it should be at the top spot very soon.
2. Rema/Selena Gomez - Calm Down: Gosh, this song sure has been in the Top 3 for a while. But I'm sure this is going to be on it's way out of here soon.
1. Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer: Holding the top spot for the 2nd week in a row. I'm super pleased that it's still in there. And yes, I'm sure this song is going to stay in there for a while because we know it's her. Let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.
