So we are now officially in the month of September and I hope everyone's been having a great Labor Day weekend! And of course, I go back to school on Tuesday. It's going to be my 3rd year of college so hopefully it'll be an amazing school year for me. Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks so super interesting. This Week's Mover and Shaker:
I'm super duper pleased to see Doja Cat - Paint The Town Red and The Weeknd/Playboi Carti/Madonna - Popular (+8) take the biggest jumps this week. They both deserve it! And I'm sure hoping that they should go to the Top 20 soon.
Harry Styles - Satellite and Metro Boomin/The Weeknd/21 Savage - Creepin' (-4) sure have been losing airplay this week. Although I wasn't that happy to see them take the biggest drops\, but I'm sure they're going to be out of here soon.
New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:
Noah Kahan/Post Malone - Dial Drunk: Does anybody remember him? He brought us Hurt Somebody with Julia Michaels back in 2018, and that was a song that I actually enjoyed back then. But I gotta say, this is just a decent song. Although I did hear the original version of this song a lot on Alt Nation and that was outstanding. But they actually played the remix of this song which features Post Malone, who was a terrible singer in my opinion. This remix is just decent. Though the production sounds so outstanding and Noah's vocals sound super outstanding. But of course Post's vocals were awful in his contribution. But I think the chorus was still so amazing and the lyrics were still nice. But this is decent overall. I prefer the original version over the remix. Let's see how this one does on there.
Fall Out Boy - We Didn't Start The Fire: This is the only great debut we have this week. So this is actually their cover of Billy Joel's hit song from 1989, except they changed some of the lyrics. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an extremely heavenly song and this is absolutely the best song that I've ever heard from them. It's definitely a humongous step up from Hold Me Like A Grudge and all of their other songs. With my opinion on this song, the production was extremely heavenly, Patrick's vocals were extremely heavenly, the lyrics were extremely heavenly, the chorus was extremely heavenly, everything here was extremely heavenly. This is definitely going to end up as my #1 song of the year. Hopefully this should become a hit on there.
Billie Eilish - What Was I Made For: This is another song that was taken from the soundtrack of the new Barbie movie, which was interesting. But I gotta say, this is also a decent song. She's still not that good of a singer. I mean her voice still sounds childish. Gosh, when is she gonna have a new voice? She's been having that same voice for years. She needs to get a new voice now. But anyways. With my opinion, the production was decent, Billie's vocals were decent, and the chorus was decent. But the lyrics were still very nicely-written, so I'll give credit to that. But this is another decent song overall for me. Let's see how this one does on there.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. Dua Lipa - Dance The Night: I'm pleased to see this song in the Top 5. This deserves to be in there. And I'm sure hoping that it should go to the Top 3 soon.
4. Miguel - Sure Thing: I have a feeling that this song might leave the Top 5 very soon. I know it has been in there for a while because of how it did.
3. Rema/Selena Gomez - Calm Down: I actually expected it to drop. And I'm sure that next week it'll be out of the Top 3. But it still had a nice time there.
2. Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer: It dropped out of the top spot. Buit it still had a nice time in there for a couple weeks. Though I somehow would like to see this come back to the top spot again, but I'm not sure if it'll actually happen.
1. Olivia Rodrigo - Vampire: I'm so pleased to see this song at the top spot. This is now her first #1 song on there since Good 4 U back in 2021, so that's pretty nice to see her come back at this spot. Now, let's see how long it could hold the spot.
