AT40: Doja Cat (5) Week Of December 9, 2023
So my birthday is coming up this Monday. I'm gonna be turning 21 years old which was actually super exciting. That means I get to start gambling at the casinos and start drinking some beer and stuff. I'm really looking forward to that! Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks so interesting. We do have quite another interesting Top 5 this week, but I'm gonna get to it later on in this post like always. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! #1 Song This Week One Year Ago:
Sam Smith/Kim Petras - Unholy (2 of 6 weeks at #1)
This Week's Mover and Shaker:
I'm so pleased to see Dua Lipa - Houdini (+14) take a huge big jump this week to the Top 20. It really has been gaining lots of airplay recently. Now, let's see if it'll go to the Top 10 soon.
Selena Gomez - Single Soon (-19) sure has been losing lots and lots of airplay recently. Although I wasn't really that thrilled to see it take a huge big drop, I'm sure it's going to be out of here very soon.
New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:
Teddy Swims - Lose Control: He has now made his first ever appearance on there this week which was amazing. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing song. With my opinion on this one, the production was so amazing, Teddy's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Let's see how far this goes on there.
Jack Harlow - Lovin On Me: The best debut this week. And what I've noticed about this song is that it actually uses the same formula as First Class last year. In First Class, he sampled Fergie's 2007 hit song Glamorous in the hook. And now in this new song, he sampled Cadillac Dale's 1995 song Whatever in the hook, which was a song that I've actually never heard of before. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another amazing song and it's actually a step up from First Class. With my opinion, the production was so amazing, Jack's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were so interesting, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Let's see how far this one gets on there.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. Tate McRae - Greedy: It debuted the Top 5 this week. I'm so pleased to see this song in there. It deserves it! Now, let's see if it'll go to the Top 3 soon.
4. Miley Cyrus - Used To Be Young: Gosh, this song sure has been trying so hard to get to the Top 3. But it's gotta keep trying.
3. Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer: Well I actually didn't expect this song to drop, but I'm still pleased that it's still in the Top 3. But I'm sure this might be out of here very soon.
2. Doechii - What It Is (Block Boy): I'm glad that it's moving back up to this spot, but again I don't think this song is ever going to hit the top spot. But let's see what happens then with it.
1. Doja Cat - Paint The Town Red: Holding the top spot for the 5th week in a row. Wow, this song sure has been doing super amazing on there recently. And I'm sure this might remain there for the rest of the year or so. Let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.
