Tate McRae (8) Week Of January 6, 2024

So we're now officially in 2024. I'm so looking forward to see what new music we can discover and what's trending on Hits 1 throughout the year. Hopefully we should get some more amazing songs! I'm also looking forward to see what songs on there that will end up in my Top 10 Songs of the year at the end of this year. Hopefully it'll be another amazing year for music! Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks so amazing. There has been lots of amazing stuff that's happening on there this week, but I'm gonna get to some later on in this post like what I always do. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Unfortunately, there are no songs leaving the countdown this week. #1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

Taylor Swift - Anti-Hero (8 of 10 weeks at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

Paul Russell - Lil Boo Thang (+8) took the biggest jump into the Top 3 this week. I'm so pleased to see it in there. This deserves it! Though I actually didn't expect this song to be in there, but I'm pleased that it actually did it.

Jonas Brothers/Bailey Zimmerman - Strong Enough took a short biggest drop all the way out of the Top 5 from the Top 3, which I wasn't that thrilled to see. And Olivia Rodrigo - Get Him Back! (-4) was also tied for the biggest drop this week as it dropped out of the top spot. But at least it's still in the Top 5 which was a good thing.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Olivia Rodrigo - Get Him Back!: It dropped out of the top spot as it was tied for the biggest drop this week. But I'm still cool with this song still in the Top 5, but maybe it might stay in there for a couple more weeks and then be out of here.

4. Taylor Swift - Is It Over Now: It's moving back up. I'm so pleased to see it do that. Now, this needs to get back in the Top 3 and get to the top spot because we all know who she is.

3. Paul Russell - Lil Boo Thang: Thanks to it's biggest jump this week, this song has now made it's debut in the Top 5 and into the Top 3. Again I'm pleased that it's in there. But I don't think this song is ever going to be at the top spot, but let's see how long it'll stay in the Top 3.

2. Dua Lipa - Houdini: I'm so pleased to see this song move back up to this spot. It totally deserves to do that! Now, this better get to the top spot very soon.

1. Tate McRae - Greedy: Wow, I actually did not expect this song to come back to the top spot. But I'm pleased that it's back in there! And now this song is 6 weeks away from tying the record for the most weeks spent at #1. Though I don't think it's actually going to happen, but let's see how long it'll hold the spot.

Now, let's review this week's Hit Bound:

1. Knox - Girl On The Internet

2. Umi/V - Wherever U R (DEBUT)

3. Smallpools - Night Shift (DEBUT)

16. Jagwar Twin - Bad Feeling (Oompa Loompa)

New Song/s on Hit Bound this week are:

Umi/V - Wherever U R: This was actually another interesting collaboration because we have a new R&B singer collaborating with another BTS member which was super interesting. But I gotta say, this is just a decent song. There really isn't anything interesting to say about this song. Though the production actually doesn't sound good here, but Umi's vocals still sound outstanding and V's vocals still sound amazing in his contribution and the chorus was decent. But the lyrics were still interesting, so I'll still give credit to that. But this is decent overall. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Smallpools - Night Shift: The best Hit Bound entrant this week. I've actually heard of this band before because I've heard there song Dreaming on Alt Nation back in 2015 and I've really been enjoying this song back then. As far as this new song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from Dreaming. With my opinion on this song, the production was so phenomenal, the vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was super heavenly. Hopefully it'll be on the countdown soon.

Lewis Capaldi - Strangers: So he has put out a deluxe version of his album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent recently, and here is one of the songs from it making it's debut on there. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing song. But definitely not as good as Kenya Grace's song of the same title, but it's still amazing. With my opinion on this one, the production was so amazing, Lewis's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were so nicely-written, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Let's see if this should be on the countdown soon.
