Tate McRae (9) Week Of January 13, 2024

As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it still looks interesting, but we did get rid of a song that was in my top songs of last year, and of course it will forever be missed. Though we do have some more interesting debuts this week except we have another bad debut this week. But I'm gonna get to them later on in this post like always. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Before we get to this week's Fresh 30, here are the songs dropping out of the countdown this week.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

Taylor Swift - Anti-Hero (9 of 10 weeks at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

I'm so pleased about Renee Rapp/Megan Thee Stallion - Not My Fault (+7) gaining some airplay on there this week. What a phenomenal week it has been for those two! Now, let's see of it'll go to the Top 20 soon.

Post Malone - Enough Is Enough (-3) totally deserves to take a short biggest drop this week! Now, this song needs to be out of here. I've seriously had enough of him!

New Song/s on the countdown this week are:

Bruce Melodie/Shaggy - When She's Around (Funga Macho): This is just a decent song. There really is nothing interesting to say about this song. Although I'm not really huge on the production and there's also some strange elements on this song, but Bruce and Shaggy both still sound amazing here and the chorus was decent. And the lyrics were still super interesting, so I'll still give credit to that. But this is still a decent song overall. Let's see how this one does on there.

People R Ugly - Brain Dead: What the heck is this song?! And I've also heard that this band only has around 109K monthly listeners on Spotify as well. So I decided to give this song a listen and... oh gosh it's definitely stupid and absolutely total garbage. I seriously have no idea what's going on with this song, but it's just super awful for me. The production sounded so awful, the vocals were super terrible, the lyrics were so stupid, and the chorus was absolutely garbage. This is definitely going to end up in my Bottom 10 Songs of the year. Hopefully this doesn't do well on there.

Mitski - My Love Mine All Mine: I've actually been listening to some of her other songs back then before this song came out. And now, she has her first appearance on there this week. But I gotta say, this is also a decent song. There really isn't anything interesting to say about it. Though the production actually doesn't sound good here, but Mitski's vocals still sound outstanding here and the chorus was decent. But I think the lyrics were still super interesting, so I'll definitely still give credit to that. But this is another decent song overall for me. Let's see how this one does on there.

Taylor Swift - Now That We Don't Talk: Wow, a song from the 1989 vault making it's debut on there? That's super amazing. As far as the song goes, it's absolutely a phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as Is It Over Now, but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion on it, the production was so phenomenal, Taylor's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was so heavenly. Though my main issue about it is that it's actually a little bit short at under 2:30. But this is still a phenomenal song overall. Let's see if it'll do well on there.

Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday Girls: The best countdown debut this week. And one thing I've noticed about the song is that it actually samples Cyndi Lauper's 1984 hit song Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, which was super amazing. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a heavenly song and it's actually a step up from Last Time I Saw You and Everybody. With my opinion on this song, the production was super phenomenal, Nicki's vocals were so heavenly, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was super heavenly. Hopefully this should become a hit on there.

Henry Moodie - Pick Up The Phone: He has now made his first ever appearance on there this week. Though I actually didn't expect this song to be in there, but it actually somehow managed to do it. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing song. With my opinion, the production was so amazing, Henry's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were so nicely-written, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Let's see how far this one gets on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Taylor Swift - Is It Over Now: Can we seriously please not let this song drop? I don't really want to see it out of the Top 5. This needs to be back in the Top 3 soon.

4. Teddy Swims - Lose Control: I'm pleased that it's back in the Top 5 this week. But I'm not sure if it'll come back to the Top 3, but let's see if it does soon.

3. Paul Russell - Lil Boo Thang: Yeah I don't think this song is ever going to the top spot. But maybe it might stay in the Top 3 for at least one more week or so.

2. Dua Lipa - Houdini: Though I'm sure this song is probably not going to be at the top spot. But I'm sure it's going to stay in the Top 3 for a few more weeks and then be out of here.

1. Tate McRae - Greedy: Holding the top spot for the 2nd week in a row. And now this song is 5 weeks away from tying the record. But again I don't think it's ever going to happen, but let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.

1. AJR - Inertia

2. Ariana Grande - Yes, And? (DEBUT)

New Song/s on Hit Bound this week are:

Ariana Grande - Yes, And?: The best Hit Bound entrant this week. I've actually expected her to come back on there because we haven't heard from her since 2021 with POV. But she's finally back thank goodness. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from POV. With my opinion on this song, the production was so phenomenal, Ariana's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were super interesting, and the chorus was super heavenly. Hopefully this should be on the countdown soon.

Willow Avalon - Honey Ain't No Sweeter: So we've now picked up a new song from her after becoming the next One To Watch. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as Stranger, but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion, the production was super amazing, Willow's vocals were so phenomenal, the lyrics were so nicely-written, and the chorus was super phenomenal. And I'm sure this is going to be on the countdown when Stranger leaves. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Crash Adams - Good Side: So they've put out a new single from their upcoming album recently, and now here it is on there. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from Sugar Mommy. With my opinion on it, the production was super amazing, the vocals were so phenomenal, the lyrics were so nicely-written, and the chorus was super phenomenal. Let's see if this should be on the countdown soon.

P1Harmony - Fall In Love Again: Wow, another new K-Pop group making their debut on there? Gosh, I've actually been waiting for something new on K-Pop to be on there, and now here it is. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. With my opinion on this one, the production was super amazing, the vocals were so phenomenal, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was super phenomenal. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Lil Nas X - J Christ: This is just another decent song. I'm still not really huge on his music even though it's not bad but not good. There really isn't anything interesting to say about it. Though the production here still sounds amazing, but again Lil Nas X's vocals still don't sound good. But the chorus was decent and the lyrics were still so interesting, so I'll definitely still give credit to that. But overall, it's a decent song for me. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Eliza Rose/Calvin Harris - Body Moving: I actually remember her from a couple years ago when she had her song BOTA that never made Hits 1 at the time. As far as this new song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from BOTA. With my opinion, the production was so phenomenal, Eliza's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were so interesting, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see if this should make the countdown soon.

24kgoldn - Good Intentions: It's actually been way too long since he last appeared on there. And now, he's finally back. But I gotta say, this is yet to be another decent song for me. There really is nothing interesting to say about it. Though the production still sounds so amazing here, but Goldn's vocals don't sound that good here. But the lyrics were still super nicely-written and the chorus was decent. So yeah, this is another decent song overall. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.
