Hozier (2) Week Of May 18, 2024
As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it still looks amazing, however we did get rid of 2 songs that were in my top songs of the year and of course they will forever be missed. But unfortunately we're back to having bad songs on the countdown because of one of our crappy debuts this week. But we do have some more interesting debuts this week aside of that. But like always, I'm gonna get to them later on in this post. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Fall Out Boy - Love From The Other Side (1 of 3 weeks at #1)
This Week's Mover and Shaker:
I'm so glad to see Artemas - I Like The Way You Kiss Me take the biggest jump to the Top 20. And what's also tied for the biggest jump this week making it's Top 5 debut was Taylor Swift/Post Malone - Fortnight (+10), which I'm actually fine with because it's just decent. But still, what a week for those three.
I'm not too thrilled about Dua Lipa - Illusion (-5) taking the biggest drop. This seriously needs to get back to the Top 10 and get to the Top 5! But hopefully it'll move back up soon.
New Song/s on the countdown this week are:
Madison Beer - Make You Mine: I actually did not expect this song to come back to the countdown, but thank goodness I'm pleased to see that. Now, hopefully this should do better on it's second run in there.
D4vd - Feel It: Oh no... he has made his first ever countdown appearance on there this week. Now, if you guys remember last year, he had a Hit Bound dropout called Here With Me, and that was a song that I hate back then. As far as this new song goes, it's definitely a garbage song. Though not as bad as Here With Me, but it's still garbage. With my opinion, the production was awful, D4vd's vocals were terrible, and the chorus was garbage. But the lyrics were still interesting, so I'll still give credit to them. But this is garbage overall. Hopefully this doesn't do too well on there.
Camila Cabello/Lil Nas X - He Knows: I've noticed that she's got a new album later this year called C XOXO, which I'm so looking forward to. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. With my opinion on it, the production was so phenomenal, Camila's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were so interesting, the chorus was so heavenly, and Lil Nas X's vocals in his verse actually don't sound that bad here. Let's see how far this gets on there.
Post Malone/Morgan Wallen - I Had Some Help: He now has his first country song on there this week. I'm actually okay with him trying out a new genre instead of that crappy hip-hop music. Although I still hate him, but he actually sounds a little better in country music but still not that good. I actually gave this song a listen on The Highway to see if he'd have a better voice, though it worked out a little bit, but not by much. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a decent song. With my opinion on this song, the production was actually so amazing, but Post's vocals still don't sound that good here but they're not awful like in his other songs. But Morgan's vocals were actually super amazing in his contribution and the chorus was still so phenomenal and the lyrics were still very nicely-written. But this is decent overall. Let's see how this one does on there.
Ariana Grande - The Boy Is Mine: Since We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love) hit the Top 5, we now have a new single from her debuting straight onto there and not being on Hit Bound. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love), but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion on this song, the production was so phenomenal, Ariana's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were so nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly. Hopefully this should do well on there.
Benson Boone - Slow It Down: I've actually been waiting for this song to come back to the countdown since Beautiful Things hit the top spot a few weeks ago. And now, it's finally back. I'm pleased to see that. Now, hopefully this should do better on it's second run in there.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. Taylor Swift/Post Malone - Fortnight: Thanks to it's biggest jump this week, it has made it's debut on the Top 5. Again I'm okay with it in there. Now, let's see if it'll be in the Top 3 soon.
4. Olivia Rodrigo - Obsessed: No, this can't be out of the Top 3! This seriously needs to get to the top spot. But hopefully it'll get back in the Top 3 soon.
3. Benson Boone - Beautiful Things: I'm pleased to see this song back in the Top 3. Though I'd like it to stay in there for at least a couple more weeks and then be out of here.
2. Ariana Grande - We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love): Yeah I'd like it to stay in the Top 3 for at least a few more weeks. I don't think this song is ever going to hit the top spot on there. But let's see what happens next.
1. Hozier - Too Sweet: Holding the top spot for the 2nd week in a row. I'm super duper pleased that it's still in there. Gosh, this totally deserves to remain at this spot! Now, let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.
Now, let's review this week's Hit Bound:
1. Forrest Frank/Connor Price - UP!
2. Billie Eilish - Lunch (DEBUT)
3. Teddy Swims - Hammer To The Heart
4. Dua Lipa - These Walls
5. Henry Moodie - Drunk Text (DEBUT)
6. Tommy Richman - MILLION DOLLAR BABY
7. Stephen Sanchez - Baby Blue Bathing Suit (DEBUT)

11. Billie Eilish - Birds Of A Feather (DEBUT)
12. Alec Benjamin/Khalid - Ways To Go
13. Charli XCX - 360 (DEBUT)
14. Lay Bankz - Tell Ur Girlfriend
15. Marshmello/Kane Brown - Miles On It
16. David Guetta/OneRepublic - I Don't Wanna Wait
New Song/s on Hit Bound this week are:
Billie Eilish - Lunch: She actually has 2 songs making their debut on there this week since she released a new album Hit Me Hard And Soft. Let's start talking about this one and we will get to the other one later. As far as this song goes, it's also a decent song. There really isn't anything interesting to say about it. Though the production actually sounds so amazing, but again Billie's vocals don't sound good here. She still has that childish voice. And the chorus here was decent but the lyrics were still so interesting, so I'm cool with that. But this is a decent song overall. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.
Henry Moodie - Drunk Text: We've now picked up a new single from him since Pick Up The Phone left the countdown this week. As far as this new song goes, it's definitely another amazing song. Though definitely not as good as Pick Up The Phone by a little bit, but it's still amazing. With my opinion, the production was so amazing, Henry's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were very nicely-written, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Let's see if this should be on the countdown soon.
Stephen Sanchez - Baby Blue Bathing Suit: This was actually his first song on there since Evangeline about a year ago. But I gotta say, this is also a decent song. Though it's actually a little bit of a step up from Evangeline, but it's still decent. Though the production here was actually so amazing and more upbeat than his usual stuff, but Stephen's vocals actually don't sound good here and the chorus was decent. But the lyrics were still very nicely-written, which was a cool thing. But this is still a decent song overall for me. Let's see if this should be on the countdown soon.
Tyla/Gunna/Skillibeng - Jump: This is absolutely another amazing and fun song. Though definitely not as good as Water, but it's still amazing. With my opinion on it, the production was so amazing, Tyla's vocals were super remarkable, Gunna's vocals in his contribution actually don't sound that bad here, and Skillibeng's vocals were super amazing in his contribution as well. And the lyrics were so interesting and the chorus was so phenomenal and fun. Let's see if this should be on the countdown soon.
Billie Eilish - Birds Of A Feather: And here's the second song from her new album making it's debut on there. But this is also a decent song. Though I could say that this is actually a step up from Lunch, but it's still decent. With my opinion on this song, the production was super amazing here, but once again Billie's vocals don't sound good here and I could say that the chorus was decent. But the lyrics were still what I'm a huge fan of, so I'll still give credit to that. But this is another decent song overall. Let's see if this should make the countdown soon.
Charli XCX - 360: The best Hit Bound entrant this week. After Von Dutch dropped out of here a couple months ago, we've nowe picked up a new single from her this week. As far as the song goes, it's absolutely a super heavenly song and it's actually the best song that I've ever heard from her. It's definitely a huge step up from Von Dutch and all of her other songs. With my opinion on this one, the production was super heavenly, Charli's vocals were super heavenly,. I'm definitely a humongous fan of the lyrics, and the chorus was extremely heavenly. This is definitely going to end up in my Top 5 Songs of the year when it makes the countdown. Hopefully it'll be in there soon.
