AT40: Post Malone (2) Week Of August 17, 2024
As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it still looks amazing, however we did get rid of a song that was in my top songs of last year which will forever be missed as always, but we do have some more amazing stuff happening on there including our one debut that debuted all the way to the Top 20 this week. But I'm gonna get to it later on in this post like always. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! #1 Song This Week One Year Ago:
Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer (1 of 7 weeks at #1)
This Week's Mover and Shaker:
Kendrick Lamar - Not Like Us took the biggest jump and now it's almost in the Top 20. And what's also tied for the biggest drop this week is Billie Eilish - Birds Of A Feather which I'm okay with, and Sabrina Carpenter - Please Please Please (+5) as it jumps to the Top 5 this week, which I'm pleased to see. What a week for all of them!
I'm fine with Taylor Swift/Post Malone - Fortnight (-23) taking the biggest drop all the way out of the Top 30 from the Top 10. But I do know it has started to lose airplay so I'm sure this is going to be out of here very soon.
New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:
Meghan Trainor - Whoops: She has now made her return on there this week. As far as this new song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as I Wanna Thank Me, but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion, the production was super amazing, Meghan's vocals were so phenomenal, the lyrics were very interesting, and the chorus was super phenomenal. Let's see how this one does on there.
The Kid Laroi - Girls: This is yet another decent song. Though I could say that this wasn't as decent as Too Much, but it's still decent. There really isn't anything interesting to say about it. Though the production still sounds amazing here, but again Laroi's vocals still don't sound good. But I could say that the chorus was decent and the lyrics were still so nicely-written, so I'm definitely still giving credit to that. But this is a decent song overall. Let's see how this one does on there.
Taylor Swift - I Can Do It With A Broken Heart: The best debut this week. And she also replaces herself in the Top 20 since Fortnight took the biggest drop out of here. As far as the song goes, it's absolutely a heavenly song and it's definitely a huge step up from Fortnight. With my opinion, the production was super phenomenal, Taylor's vocals were so heavenly, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was super heavenly. Hopefully it'll do amazing on there.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. Hozier - Too Sweet: It dropped back out of the Top 3. Although I kinda expected it to happen, but I'm sure this is going to be out of the Top 5 very soon.
4. Sabrina Carpenter - Please Please Please: Thanks to it's biggest jump, it debuted the Top 5 this week. I'm so pleased to see it do that. Now, hopefully it'll go to the Top 3 soon.
3. Shaboozey - A Bar Song (Tipsy): I'm so pleased to see this song in the Top 3. It sure has been doing so well lately. Now, hopefully this should go to the top spot soon.
2. Tommy Richman - MILLION DOLLAR BABY: It's almost at the top spot! But again I'm not sure if it'll be in there, but we're gonna have to see. This might be his first ever #1 song on there, but we don't know yet for sure.
1. Post Malone/Morgan Wallen - I Had Some Help: Holding the top spot for the 2nd week in a row. I'm still fine with this song still in there. I'm still giving credit to that. Although I'm sure another song might take over the top spot soon, but let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.
