AT40: Doechii (2) Week Of June 7, 2025

So June is now officially here! And not only that, but I'm now officially done with college! Gosh, I was so ready to be done with school forever because I don't really like waking up early, but thank goodness it's finally over! And now I'm free to do whatever I want and I don't need to go back to school anymore and hopefully I get a job soon. Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks super incredible. We are still in the Golden Ages of the countdown because of our #1 song, and we also have another heavenly Top 5 on there this week. But I'm gonna get to that later on in this post like I always do. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Before we get to this week's Fresh 40, here are the songs dropping out of the countdown this week.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

Ariana Grande - We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love) (1st and only week at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

I'm so pleased to see Ravyn Lenae - Love Me Not (+8) gain some airplay this week. This really deserves to take the biggest jump! What a week for her! Now, hopefully this should go to the Top 20 soon.

Teddy Swims - Bad Dreams (-10) sure has been losing some airplay recently. I'm actually fine with it taking the biggest drop because I know it's been in there for a while. But I know it's still in the Top 20 but I'm sure it's definitely going to be out of there next week.

New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:

Max McNown - A Lot More Free: I've also been hearing his other song Better Me For You (Brown Eyes) a lot on The Highway and it's actually doing so well on the country radio charts recently. And now, he has made his first ever appearance on there this week. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing song. But definitely not as good as Better Me For You (Brown Eyes), but it's still amazing. With my opinion on this song, the production was so amazing, Max's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Let's see how this one does on there.

Sombr - Undressed: The best debut this week. I've been hearing this song a lot on Alt Nation along with his other song Back To Friends. And now it's finally time for him to make his debut on there this week. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a heavenly song and it's actually a step up from Back To Friends. With my opinion on this song, the production was so heavenly, Sombr's vocals were super heavenly, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a humongous fan of, and the chorus was extremely heavenly. This is definitely going to end up in my Top 10 Songs of the year. Hopefully this should become a huge hit on there.

Jessie Murph - Blue Strips: She's finally back on there since her feature on Koe Wetzel's song High Road late last year. Gosh, I've actually been waiting for her to make her comeback on there, and now here she is. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as High Road, but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion on this one, the production was so phenomenal and fun, Jessie's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were super interesting, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see how far this goes on there.

Kendrick Lamar - Squabble Up: I actually didn't expect this song to come back on there, but I guess I'm cool with it. But I'm sure this song won't do as well as how it did on its first run, but let's see how far this gets on its second run on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. The Weeknd - Cry For Me: I'm still waiting for this song to move up and get to the Top 3. This shouldn't be just holding there. But hopefully it'll be in the Top 3 within the next week or so.

4. Tate McRae - Sports Car: I'm super pleased to see this song in the Top 5. This totally deserves to be in there! And I'm really hoping that it should get in the Top 3 and into the top spot very soon.

3. Kendrick Lamar/SZA - Luther: I'm pleased that it's still in the Top 3, however I'm sure this song is probably going to drop out of here within the next week or so. But I do want it to stay in the Top 5 for at least a couple more weeks at the very least. Let's see what happens next.

2. Lola Young - Messy: Yeah I really want this song to stay in the Top 3 for a few more weeks at the very least. However, it might drop out of the Top 3 sometime soon, but let's see how long it'll remain in there.

1. Doechii - Anxiety: Holding the top spot for the 2nd week in a row. I'm super pleased that it's still in there. And yes, I really want this song to stay in the top spot for a few more weeks longer. Let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.
