#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:
Shawn Mendes - There's Nothing Holding Me Back (1 of 5 weeks at #1)
This Week's Mover and Shaker:
Foster The People - Sit Next To Me (+14) is now gaining more and more airplay throughout the week on pop radio charts. This week was definitely their best week ever.
Post Malone/Ty Dolla $ign - Psycho (-16) thankfully had the biggest drop this week all the way out of the Top 30 from the Top 20. That was one of the best things that I've ever seen this week. Now this song needs to stay out of the Top 30.
New Song/s on the countdown this week are:
Echosmith - Over My Head: After being on hiatus for 3 years, they are finally back on the countdown this week. Now, this song is so catchy. I love Sydney Sierota's vocals, and the chorus shines. Let's see if this should do great on this countdown.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. Taylor Swift - Delicate: It debuted the Top 5 this week and I was so pleased to see it. Now, on to my opinion. Not as good as End Game or Look What You Made Me Do, but it's still amazing. This song is by far Taylor's best song of all time. The production is so amazing, her vocals are extremely amazing, the lyrics are amazing, the chorus was extremely amazing, everything on this song is amazing. I'm pretty sure I want this song to hit #1 next week.
4. Panic! At The Disco - Say Amen (Saturday Night): I somehow like this song to be in the Top 3 soon. I hope it does.
3. Niall Horan - On The Loose: It's getting close to that top spot. I feel like this should be Niall's 2nd #1 song. Let's see if it is.
2. Zedd/Maren Morris/Grey - The Middle: Whew. It's out of there. Now, this needs to leave the Top 5 soon.
1. Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes: I'm so happy to see it at the top. This is now their 6th #1 song. Let's see how long it takes to hold the spot.
Now, let's review this week's Hit Bound:

Hit me with your thoughts and any interesting facts that you have on the artists!
ATR... I agree with everything on this blog!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love it, as well!
DeleteKTork: You do, really?
DeleteYeah, totally!
DeleteHi Joey, I'm Chasetronaut.
DeleteHey Chasetronaut! I remember you from last week. I’m Joey. How are you doing this week?
DeleteI have really been enjoying reading this blog!
"(Delicate) isn't as good as End Game or LWYMMD. (Delicate) is by far Taylor's best song."
ReplyDeleteMakes sense.
Good Point... ATR, which Taylor song do you like the most out of all her songs? I think maybe you were trying to say the production, lyrics, or something else we’re not as good as those other songs, but that you like Delicate more than any of the others? Is that it?
DeleteOl’ T-Sweezy needs to step up her songwriting game!
DeleteHey KTork, what if you should add Delicate and any of her other songs from Reputation to your roadtrip playlist?
DeleteIt's Delicate, not (Delicate).

DeleteWe do not use the word “retarded” in this comment section, swegawaffle and Joey. I’d like to keep this comment section clean.
DeleteI’m really happy to see “God’s Plan” by Drake finally out of the countdown. Maybe that was God’s Plan all along...
ReplyDeleteHopefully Fall Out Boy and Sam Smith make the countdown next week! I think FOB always releases songs at the perfect time in order to have maximum summer audiences. Sam Smith has a unique sound and catchy lyrics.
I really do agree with this entire blog. Well written, ATR.
Sorry but I gotta disagree about God’s Plan and Sam Smith.
DeleteWhich is your right to do; however, Drake tries too hard to be someone that he’s absolutely not. Lyrically, he’s unimaginative and his production and beat creation crew have been lacking for the better part of a decade.
DeleteThere’s a reason that artists like him came to fame AFTER Jay Z and the ROC crew, after the ATL scene imploded and well after the east coast / west coast rivalry heyday. He would have been lyrically slaughtered by anyone with an ounce of talent and his career wouldn’t have made it past Degrassi.
Ugh! I don’t like Imagine Dragons. I hope it gets replaced soon.
ReplyDeleteI usually don’t like them either and they’ve released a ton of shit in the past that got way overplayed, but I like Whatever It Takes.
DeleteThey’re trying to capitalize on their current fame by releasing as much content as possible!
DeleteI certainly like Whatever It Takes more than Thunder! Yuck!
DeleteThat’s true. If I hear “lightning and the thunder!” one more time, my ears are going to throw up! Blahhhh!
DeleteQueenCookie: That's too bad. I love Imagine Dragons.
Delete@Chase You literally said in Adrian’s blog that Whatever It Takes sucks.
DeleteMaybe he just doesn’t like the one song. Hey, Chase... last week was your birthday, right? Happy belated Birthday!!! :)
DeleteI was talking to some people the other day, and one of them said that they heard a rumor about that imagine Dragons was going to re-release a song from Evolve called Walking The Wire but it is remixed with Post Malone. What would y'all think about that?
ReplyDeleteI think the publicism on that would be pretty interesting. Combining two big artists from two separate genres is almost always a big deal. Quality might be lacking, but it’ll probably be catchy and popular.
DeleteI think that could be really cool! They’d vocally complement each other.
DeleteThat would definitely be interesting. Walking The Wire is a great song on its own, and Post Malone has proven he’s capable of making good music too like Rockstar and Candy Paint. I would be very interested in how that would turn out if it’s gonna be thing.
DeleteEw. I hate that remix. I’m so tired of Post Malone.
Delete@ATR Yeah somehow I knew you would say that lol. It’s not even official, and if it does happen, give it a chance, and don’t just dismiss it because you don’t like Post Malone.
DeleteThat’s true. Give the remix a chance. It could be really cool!
DeleteHis name is ATR, swegawaffle.

DeleteWoosah, everyone! The “@“ symbol is just something to throw in front of someone’s name on forums like Blogger, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
DeleteNo harm, no foul. Keep the positive vibes rolling, people!
It is not okay to call people a numbskull, swegawaffle.
DeleteATR, you once again have a terrific list here. Can’t wait till Weezers new remake of Africa hits your list. Have you heard it yet?
ReplyDeleteYeah. I heard it on Alt Nation.
DeleteHave you guys ever watched the video Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard made to Toto’s Africa while they were on an African safari? Hilarious!!! Check it out on YouTube.
DeleteNo, but I watched a dude play Toto on a squeaky plastic chicken to a real chicken for five minutes today.
DeleteFive minutes of my life that I’ll never get back.
"Not as good as End Game or Look What You Made Me Do, but it's still amazing."
ReplyDelete"This song is by far Taylor's best song of all time."
These statements contradict each other.
We already covered this above... (see ^)
DeleteYeah Adrian.
DeleteAnyone catch the CMT awards last night? It was pretty fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t know the CMT Awards was on last night.
DeleteI caught part of it! You know that Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban song? I always thought it should be a pop song
DeleteI thought it should be a pop song too!
DeleteHahahaha that’s funny. I wonder if there is anyone that didn’t think the same thing? Even Carrie Underwood’s Champion with Busta Rhymes was pretty pop. Good stuff though. I just thought the CMA’s were cool. They are really upbeat and funny. Nothing political about a country music awards show. Which is how it should be, in my opinion.
DeleteATR, do you foresee any big changes happening this week on the countdown? What are three big changes you think could happen?
ReplyDeleteWhat about you other writers? Chasetronaut, Swegawaffle, Adrian, etc. Do you guys see any big or unexpected moves happening this week?
ReplyDelete
