Chappell Roan (1) Week Of October 5, 2024

So the month of October is now upon us and spooky season has now started. And we are also in the last quarter of the year. Gosh, I feel like time is flying by so fast! Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it actually looks super amazing, however we did get rid of a song that was going to be my top song of the year which of course it will always forever be missed. But we do have yet another brand new #1 song on there which was always a nice thing to see, and we also have some more interesting stuff happening on there. But like always, I'm gonna get to them later on in this post. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Before we get to this week's Fresh 30, here are the songs dropping out of the countdown this week.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

Miley Cyrus - Used To Be Young (1 of 2 weeks at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

Halsey - Ego took the biggest jump this week as it had lots of spins on there this week. What a week for her! I'm super pleased to see it do that. And what's also tied for the biggest jump making it's Top 5 debut was Myles Smith - Stargazing (+7), which I'm also pleased to see. But I'll have more on that very soon.

I actually expected Shaboozey - A Bar Song (Tipsy) (-19) to take a humongous biggest drop this week. And now it dropped all the way out of the Top 20 from the Top 5. And I'm sure this is going to be out of here very soon.

New Song/s on the countdown this week are:

Jelly Roll - I Am Not Okay: I've been hearing this song a lot on The Highway. Although I actually wish Hits 1 would've picked up Save Me before this one, but oh well. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as Save Me, but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion, the production was so phenomenal, Jelly Roll's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were so interesting, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see how far this gets on there.

Katy Perry/Doechii - I'm His, He's Mine: The best countdown debut this week. She's now officially back on here after Woman's World flopped and Lifetimes dropping out of Hit Bound a few weeks ago. As far as this new song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from Lifetimes. With my opinion on it, the production was so phenomenal, Katy's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were super interesting, the chorus was so heavenly, and Doechii's vocals in her verse were super incredible. Let's see how far this goes on there.

Kesha - Joyride: I'm so pleased to see this song come back on there. I actually didn't expect it to happen, but I'm glad it's back! Now, let's see how this one does on it's second run on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Sabrina Carpenter - Taste: I'm so pleased to see this song in the Top 5. This really deserves to be in it! Now, hopefully it'll go to the Top 3 very soon.

4. Myles Smith - Stargazing: Thanks to it's biggest jump this week, he has now made his first ever Top 5 appearance on there. I'm so pleased to see it in there as well. Though I'm not sure if it'll go to the Top 3, but let's see if it does soon.

3. Billie Eilish - Birds Of A Feather: I'm fine with this song back in the Top 3. But again I don't think this song is ever going to hit the top spot. But I'll still give credit to it if it does. But let's see what happens next.

2. Post Malone/Morgan Wallen - I Had Some Help: Yeah I'm sure it's going to stay in there for at least a couple more weeks and then be out of here mostly because of how well it did. Let's see how long it'll remain in there.

1. Chappell Roan - Hot To Go!: She replaces herself at the top spot this week which was actually pretty amazing. I'm so pleased to see this song at the top spot. This totally deserves to be in there! Now, let's see how long it'll hold the spot.

Now, let's review this week's Hit Bound:

1. Damiano David/Labrinth - Silverlines

2. Dasha - Bye Bye Bye

3. Knox - Invisible

4. Coldplay/Ayra Starr - Good Feelings (DEBUT)

5. LISA - Moonlit Floor (DEBUT)

6. Nightly - Every Part

7. Ava Max - Spot A Fake

8. Kylie Minogue - Lights Camera Action

9. Henry Moodie - Good Old Days

10. Teddy Swims - Bad Dreams

11. Balu Brigada - So Cold

12. Jon Bellion - Kid Again

13. Alex Warren - Burning Down

14. Myles Smith - Wait For You

15. Natalie Jane - Somebody To Someone (I Just Wanna Fall In Love)

16. Morgan Wallen/ERNEST - Cowgirls

New Song/s on Hit Bound this week are:

Coldplay/Ayra Starr - Good Feelings: So they just put out their new album Moon Music yesterday, and now we have one of the songs from it debuting on there this week. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from We Pray. With my opinion on it, the production was so phenomenal, both Chris and Ayra sound super phenomenal, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was so heavenly. Here's to hoping that it will make the countdown soon.

LISA - Moonlit Floor: The best Hit Bound entrant this week. And what I've noticed about this song is that it actually samples Sixpence None The Richer's 1998 hit song Kiss Me, which I think is super interesting. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal and fun song. With my opinion on this song, the production was so phenomenal, Lisa's vocals were super incredible, the lyrics were super duper nicely-written, and the chorus and samples were super heavenly and fun. Hopefully it'll be on the countdown soon.
