Dua Lipa (1) Week Of January 30, 2021
So the closures of restaurants and schools has been lifted to February 1. Can you believe it? In two more days, they are finally back open and this is definitely the first day of the year that they are open. And thank goodness now I don't have to worry about doing online school because it sucked for me. But I thought I still did great overall. But I can't wait to go back to school in person. But we gotta remember that I do still need to wear my mask whenever I go somewhere just so I don't get COVID. But anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought it looks so interesting. We do have a brand new #1 song on here, which I'm going to get to later. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! #1 Song This Week One Year Ago:
Post Malone - Circles (1 of 2 weeks at #1) [yuck...]
This Week's Mover and Shaker:
I'm so pleased about Olivia Rodrigo - Driver's License (+14) taking a massive big jump this week. I'm sure this might hit the Top 5 within the next week or so. Hopefully it'll happen.
Shawn Mendes - Wonder and Jason Derulo - Take You Dancing (-6) were both tied for the biggest drop this week. Though I'm not that thrilled to see that. But I'm sure this is going to be the end of them.
New Song/s on the countdown this week are:
Jason Derulo/Adam Levine - Lifestyle: Since Take You Dancing is on it's way out of here, this song has now made it's debut on there. Now, this is absolutely an amazing song and it's definitely a step up from Take You Dancing. Now, on to the song. The production here is so outstanding, Jason's vocals were super amazing, Adam's vocals were also super amazing in his contribution, and I fell in love with that chorus. Hopefully this should become a big hit on there.
Glass Animals - Heat Waves: They have finally made their first countdown appearance this week. Now, I've actually been hearing some of their other songs on Alt Nation before this one. As far as this song goes, it's absolutely a heavenly alt-pop song. For my opinion, the production here is very heavenly, the vocals were absolutely heavenly, the lyrics are super phenomenal, and that chorus was super heavenly. This is definitely going to end up in my Top 10 Songs of the year. That was a great start for this year to pick up a song that's going to make it in my Top 10 Songs list. Hopefully this should do amazing on there.
Ava Max - My Head And My Heart: This song actually sounds like ATC - Around The World in terms of the melodies from this song, which I've actually found very interesting. As far as this new song goes, it is definitely another pretty heavenly song. Though not as good as Kings & Queens, but it's still pretty heavenly. The production here was pretty heavenly, Ava's vocals were pretty heavenly, the lyrics were pretty heavenly, the chorus was pretty heavenly, everything here was pretty heavenly. This is also going to end up in my Top 10 Songs of the year. Hopefully this should do well on there.
Pop Smoke - What You Know Bout Love: It re-entered the countdown this week. I'll still give credit to this song for doing that, because it's actually a decent song. Let's see how far this one goes in it's second run.
Sabrina Carpenter - Skin: It's actually been a while since we last heard from her. Now, the last time we heard from her was back in 2019 with Sue Me, and it was my #2 favorite song of the year from which you've remembered. And now, here she is back on there. Now, this is definitely an amazing song. Though definitely not as good as Sue Me, but it's still amazing. The production here was absolutely amazing, Sabrina's vocals were so phenomenal, the lyrics were very interesting, and I really enjoyed the chorus. Let's see how far this gets.
Joshua Bassett - Lie Lie Lie: He has finally made his first countdown appearance this week. And what I've noticed about this guy is that he was affiliated with a current popular female artist who's about to become popular on there. Now, as far as this song goes, it's definitely outstanding. The production sounded awesome, Joshua's vocals were so outstanding, those lyrics were super interesting, and the chorus was absolutely amazing. Let's see how far this one gets.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. Machine Gun Kelly/Blackbear - My Ex's Best Friend: It debuted the Top 5 this week. And this is actually his second Top 5 song on here. I know Bad Things have hit the Top 5 back in 2017. I'm so pleased to see this song in there. Now, let's see if it'll be in the Top 3 soon.
4. Billie Eilish - Therefore I Am: That's ok. I'll still give credit to this song moving up. Though again I'm not sure if it's going to be back in the Top 3, but we're gonna have to see.
3. Harry Styles - Golden: I'm pleased that this song is still in the Top 3, but I'm not sure if it's actually coming back to the top spot, but I'm sure this might hang around in there for a while.
2. All Time Low/Demi Lovato/Blackbear - Monsters: It dropped out of the top spot. But I'm still pleased to see it in there for 4 weeks. But now, we are in a new year, and now it's time to find a new #1 song of the year for me. But yeah, I don't think it's ever going to come back to the top spot.
1. Dua Lipa/DaBaby - Levitating: Wow, I actually didn't think it was going to be at the top spot! But now, there it is! This is now her first #1 song on there this week. Now, let's see how long it could hold the spot.

Now, this is definitely a step up from My Ex's Best Friend. It's such a phenomenal song. The production here was super amazing, MGK's vocals were super phenomenal in the verses, and Halsey's vocals were pretty heavenly in the chorus. Hopefully this should be on the countdown soon.
SZA - Good Days: What an amazing song. And I've noticed that this song was currently doing well on the pop radio charts, so that's definitely a great idea for Hits 1 to pick this song up. Now, on to my opinion. The production sounded so amazing, SZA's vocals were absolutely amazing, the lyrics are what I'm a huge fan of, and that chorus was super amazing. Hopefully it'll be on the countdown very soon.
Shaylen - Goodbye: Why would we let this song re-enter Hit Bound? I'm not too thrilled to see it leave the countdown and then come back on there, but hopefully it'll be back on the countdown soon.
Zara Larsson/Young Thug - Talk About Love: This is definitely another phenomenal song and this is definitely a step up from WOW. Now, on to the song. The production in this one was absolutely amazing, Zara's vocals were so phenomenal, the chorus is what I really enjoyed, and Young Thug actually doesn't sound bad in his verse.
