Dua Lipa (1) Week Of May 1, 2021

So this has been a super interesting week this week. We have yet another amazing brand new #1 song this week, which again it's always nice to see. But other than that, our debuts this week were pretty good. I'll get to all of those later on in this post, but for now, let's get to it! I'm fine with Lil Nas X - Montero (Call Me By Your Name) (+9) in the Top 10. Although I'm not sure if it's actually going to hit the Top 5, but we're gonna have to see.

Taylor Swift - Willow (-19) has made a surprising biggest drop this week as it dropped all the way out of the Top 20 from the Top 3. But this might be the end of it.

New Song/s on the countdown this week are:

Nelly/Florida Georgia Line - Lil Bit: Now, the last time they collaborated was back in 2013 with the remix of their hit Cruise, and that was a song that I enjoyed back then. As for this new song, it's definitely amazing. Not as good as Cruise, but it's still amazing. The production was so outstanding, Nelly's vocals were super amazing, Tyler Hubbard's vocals were absolutely amazing in his contribution, and that chorus was absolutely phenomenal. Hopefully it'll become a hit on there.

Surfaces - Wave Of You: This song was actually way better than Sunday Best, but it's still not that great. It's just decent. For my opinion, I'm not really huge on the production, but the vocals sounded so much better than in Sunday Best. And the lyrics were still very interesting and the chorus was just decent. So yeah, this is just a decent song overall. Let's see how far this gets.

Imagine Dragons - Follow You: The best countdown debut this week. They have finally made their return on there. It's actually been a while since we last heard from them. As far as this new song goes, it's absolutely an amazing song. With my opinion, The production is absolutely amazing, Dan's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were absolutely phenomenal, and the chorus was absolutely heavenly. I'm sure this will become a hit on there because I know Hits 1 is in love with them. Hopefully it'll happen.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Olivia Rodrigo - Deja Vu: I'm so pleased to see it debut the Top 5 this week. Now, I'm sure this is going to be in the Top 3 next week. Hopefully I'm right.

4. Taylor Swift - Mr. Perfectly Fine: She replaces herself in the Top 5 this week since Willow had the biggest drop from there. Now let's see if it'll be ion the Top 3 soon.

3. Machine Gun Kelly/Halsey - Forget Me Too: I'm still waiting for this song to move up and be at the top spot. But I don't think it's actually going to happen, but I'm sure hoping soon it'll be in there.

2. Conan Gray - Overdrive: It dropped out of the top spot. But it sure did had a nice time in there last week. But I'm sure this is going to be out of the Top 3 soon.

1. Dua Lipa - We're Good: I'm so pleased to see this song in the top spot. This is now her 2nd #1 song on there. Now, let's see how long it could hold the spot.

Polo G - Rapstar: This is just another decent song. There's pretty much nothing here that's interesting about this song. But I do know that this was the current #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100, so I'm okay with that. As for my opinion, the production here actually sounded great, but again I'm not really huge on Polo G's vocals. He still doesn't sound good here. But other than that, the lyrics were fine and the chorus was decent. That's all. Decent song overall. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Cash Cash/Wiz Khalifa/Lukas Graham - Too Late: I'm not that thrilled to see it come back on Hit Bound. But I'm sure hoping that this should come back to the countdown very soon.

Annita - Girl From Rio: This is the only great debut we have this week. As far as this song goes, it's absolutely an amazing song. With my opinion, the production was so amazing and I really love that summery vibe with it, Annita's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were so interesting, and that chorus was so phenomenal. Here's to hoping that it should be on the countdown very soon.

Kali Uchis - Telepatia: This is also a decent song. And I know that this song has been around on the Hot 100 for a while, which was okay. But it's just not a great song for me, but it's not too bad. Anyway, on to my opinion. The production here was decent, Kali's vocals were decent, the lyrics were decent, the chorus was decent, everything here was decent. So yeah, this is decent overall. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.
