Olivia Rodrigo (1) Week Of May 29, 2021

So this week has marked the 1-year anniversary of the countdown being 30 songs, which was actually crazy. Also, I'm almost done with my high school career. I just did my senior exams this past week. I'm really looking forward to graduate this year and head to college in September. Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, it actually looks super interesting. We do have a lot of debuts this week, which I'll get to later. We also have another brand new #1 song on there. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! #1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

The Weeknd - Blinding Lights (6th and final week at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

I'm so glad about Ariana Grande - POV (+9) taking the biggest jump into the Top 5. This deserves it! I'll explain more about this very soon.

Taylor Swift - Mr. Perfectly Fine (-7) has dropped out of the top spot with the biggest drop this week. Although I'm not surprised to see this. But it did had a nice run in there for a couple weeks. But I'm sure this might still be hanging around in the Top 10 for a little bit longer.

New Song/s on the countdown this week are:

BTS - Butter: This is absolutely a super amazing song. But definitely not as good as Dynamite, but it's still super amazing. As for my opinion on this one, the production here was super amazing, the vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were super nicely-written and what I'm a huge fan of, and that chorus was absolutely phenomenal. I'm sure this is probably going to become a hit on there. Let's see how far this one gets on there.

Olivia Rodrigo - Good 4 U: The best countdown debut this week. This song has now debuted on there since Deja Vu has hit #1 on here this week. As far as the song goes, it's super phenomenal and it's actually a step up from Deja Vu. The production here was so phenomenal, Olivia's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were absolutely phenomenal, and that chorus was so heavenly. Hopefully this should become a huge and massive hit on there.

Marshmello/Jonas Brothers - Leave Before You Love Me: This is such an amazing EDM song. But definitely not as good as Be Kind, but it's still amazing. With my opinion, the production was so amazing, the vocals were so amazing, the lyrics were pretty phenomenal, the chorus was super amazing, and that drop was so phenomenal. But yeah, overall it's such an amazing song. Hopefully this song should do well on there.

Bella Poarch - Build A Bitch: We have yet another TikTok star making her debut on the countdown. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing song. For my opinion, the production was super outstanding, Bella's vocals were so amazing, those lyrics were super interesting, and that chorus was absolutely amazing. Although I'm not sure if this is actually going to do so well on there, but let's see how far this gets.

ILLENIUM/Iann Dior - First Time: I'm glad to see this song re-enter the countdown. This really deserves to be back in there. Now, let's see how this one does in it's second run.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Ariana Grande - POV: Because of that biggest jump this week, this song has now made it's debut in the Top 5. I actually didn't think it was going to be in there, but it did. Again I'm so glad to see it in there. Now, let's see if it'll be in the Top 3 soon.

4. AJR - Way Less Sad: This song has also made it's debut in the Top 5 this week. I'm super pleased to see it in there. Now, I'm sure hoping that this should be in the Top 3 very soon.

3. Dua Lipa - We're Good: I actually thought that this was actually going to leave the Top 3 on here, but thank goodness it did not. But I'm sure this is going to be out of here next week.

2. Lil Nas X - Montero (Call Me By Your Name): It also debuted the Top 5 this week and it's almost at the top spot. I'm fine with this song in there, but I'm definitely still giving credit to this song if it hits the top spot very soon. Can this be his first #1 song on there? We're gonna have to find out.

1. Olivia Rodrigo - Deja Vu: I'm so pleased to see this song in the top spot. Wow, she really has becoming more and more popular on there. Now, let's see how long it could hold the spot.

Now, let's review this week's Hit Bound:

New Song/s on Hit Bound this week are:

Nelly/Florida Georgia Line - Lil Bit: CAN WE PLEASE STOP WITH ALL OF THOSE SONGS LEAVING THE COUNTDOWN AND THEN DEBUTING ON HIT BOUND?????!!!!! I'm seriously getting so sick and tired of this bullcrap! This seriously needs to be back on the countdown very soon.

Anne-Marie/Niall Horan - Our Song: The best Hit Bound entrant this week. It's actually been a while since we last heard from her. I'm pretty sure the last time we heard from her was 2002, and that was a big hit back in 2018 and 2019. And now, she's back. As for this new song, it's definitely a phenomenal song. For my opinion, the production was so phenomenal, Anne-Marie's vocals were super phenomenal, Niall's vocals were super amazing in his contribution, the lyrics were absolutely phenomenal, and that chorus was so heavenly. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Tom Grennan - Little Bit Of Love: This is such an outstanding song. With my opinion, the production here was so outstanding and I really love Tom's vocals. He sounds super outstanding and he actually sounds like a cross between Lewis Capaldi and Lukas Graham, which was super interesting. And other than that, the lyrics were very amazing, and that chorus was so amazing. So yeah, it's such an outstanding song overall. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Dixie D'Amelio - Fuckboy: This is such another amazing song. But definitely not as good as One Whole Day, but it's still amazing. The production was so amazing, Dixie's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were actually super interesting, and I do enjoy the chorus, although they actually repeated the line "you're just a fuckboy" multiple times in it. But I do still enjoy it. And what I've noticed about the chorus is that it's actually written in the same way The Eulogy Of You And Me's was since both of those songs have one repeated line since they're both TikTok stars, which was very interesting. But yeah, this is such an amazing song overall. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Duncan Laurence - Arcade: I was actually expecting this song to make it's debut on there, and now here it is. Now, I've gone through my opinion on this one a few weeks ago when it debuted the AT40. It's definitely an amazing song. For my opinion, the production was super outstanding, Duncan's vocals were so amazing, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and that chorus was super amazing. Hopefully it'll be on the countdown very soon.

Tai Verdes - A-O-K: I've been hearing this song a lot on Alt Nation. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another amazing song. The production was so amazing, Tai's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were super interesting, and that chorus was absolutely phenomenal. I'm sure hoping that this should be on the countdown very soon and if it does, I'm really hoping that this should do better on there than the Alt-18. Let's see if it'll be in there soon.
