Olivia Rodrigo (3) Week Of June 19, 2021

I hope everyone's been having a great first week of summer vacation. I sure did have a great one, because I really love doing some fun things outside and enjoying the sun and stuff. Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it actually looks pretty good, although we do have some good and bad stuff happening on there. I'll get to all of those later on, but for now, let's get to it! Before we get to this week's Fresh 30, here are the songs dropping out of the countdown this week.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

5 Seconds Of Summer - Old Me (1st and only week at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

I'm so pleased to see Marshmello/Jonas Brothers - Leave Before You Love Me (+12) taking the biggest jump this week as it now enters the Top 20. Now, I'm hoping that this should be in the Top 10 very soon.

I'm okay with Billie Eilish - Your Power (-13) taking the biggest drop. Although I do have a feeling that this might be out of here sometime soon.

New Song/s on the countdown this week are:

Tesher/Jason Derulo - Jalebi Baby: This is just a decent song. There's nothing here that's interesting to say about it. Though Tesher's vocals were so outstanding and Jason's vocals also sound so outstanding in his contribution, but I'm not really huge on the production and the chorus does seem to be a little repetitive. Although I don't mind the lyrics here, because I thought that they're still super interesting. But this is a decent song overall. Let's see how far this one gets on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Ariana Grande - POV: Yeah, I don't think this song is going to be in the Top 3 here. Maybe it might be out of here very soon.

4. Olivia Rodrigo - Deja Vu: I actually figured somehow that it was going to leave the Top 3 this week. But I'm sure this is probably gonna hang around in the Top 5 for a little bit longer.

3. Doja Cat/SZA - Kiss Me More: I'm so pleased to see this song in the Top 3. But I have a feeling that this might not hit the top spot on there. But we're gonna have to see if it does or not.

2. Lil Nas X - Montero (Call Me By Your Name): I have a feeling that this song might not hit the top spot because of what was going on in there. Maybe it might drop very soon.

1. Olivia Rodrigo - Good 4 U: Holding the top spot for the 3rd week in a row. I'm so pleased that it's still in there. Gosh, what is going on with her career? She really has had a very strong start. Now, let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.

Now, let's review this week's Hit Bound:

1. Riton & Nightcrawlers/Mufasa/Hypeman - Friday (DEBUT)

2. Mimi Webb - Good Without

3. Doja Cat - Need To Know (DEBUT)

4. Nessa Barrett/Jxdn - La Di Die

5. Polo G - Rapstar (RE-ENTRY)

6. Tones And I - Cloudy Day (DEBUT)

7. Blackbear/Tate McRae - U Love U

8. DJ Khaled/Post Malone/Megan Thee Stallion/Lil Baby/DaBaby - I Did It

9. Coldplay - Higher Power

10. Jxdn - Think About Me (DEBUT)

11. Mooski/Chris Brown - Track Star (RE-ENTRY)

12. Billie Eilish - Lost Cause

13. Annita/DaBaby - Girl From Rio

14. Nelly/Florida Georgia Line - Lil Bit

15. Giveon - Heartbreak Anniversary

New Song/s on Hit Bound this week are:

Riton & Nightcrawlers/Mufasa/Hypeman - Friday: The best Hit Bound entrant this week. We have yet another brand new EDM producer making his debut on there. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing and fun song. I've gone through this song a couple weeks ago back when it debuted the AT40. The production was so fun, the vocals were absolutely amazing, the lyrics were super nicely-written, the chorus was super amazing, and the drop was so phenomenal. And I've noticed that the drop follows the Hotel Room Service sample, which I found very interesting. But yeah, this is such a super fun song for me to listen to. I'm really hoping that this should be on the countdown very soon.

Doja Cat - Need To Know: Since Kiss Me More hit the Top 3 this week, this song has now made it's debut on there. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing song. But not as good as Kiss Me More, but it's still amazing. With my opinion, the production was so amazing, Doja's vocals were pretty phenomenal, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and that chorus was absolutely phenomenal. Hopefully it'll be on the countdown soon.

Polo G - Rapstar: I'm fine with this song coming back on there. But again I'm not sure if it's going to be on the countdown, but let's see if it'll have another chance to be on there.

Tones And I - Cloudy Day: This is just another decent song. There really isn't anything here that's interesting to say about it. Although the production here sounded outstanding, but I'm not really huge on her vocals and I really don't like those backing vocals in the chorus. But the lyrics were still very nicely-written, so I'll still give credit to that. But this is another decent song for me overall. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Jxdn - Think About Me: Oh boy... here we go again with another new single from him. You know that he's not a good artist. And this also sounds like The Eulogy Of You And Me, which was another song that I hated. I really have no idea why we have this one. This is absolutely a garbage song. As for my opinion, the production is so generic, Jxdn's vocals don't sound good at all, the lyrics were a huge mess, and that chorus was absolutely garbage. So yeah, this is not a good song for me overall and we don't seriously need him. Hopefully it doesn't go on the countdown. NEXT!

Mooski/Chris Brown - Track Star: This song has now re-entered Hit Bound with the new remix version of it. Although this song is actually on the same level as the original one. Though Chris's vocals do sound outstanding in his contribution here. But everything else is mediocre. But yeah, this is still a mediocre song for me. Let's see if it'll have another chance to be on the countdown soon.
