Olivia Rodrigo (9) Week Of July 31, 2021
So we are now getting to the end of July. Gosh, time has gone by so fast! Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it still looks pretty good, but we did get rid of another song that was in my Top 5 Songs of the year which was sad. But we do have some more interesting debuts. I'll get to all of those later on, but for now, let's get to it! #1 Song This Week One Year Ago:
Harry Styles - Watermelon Sugar (6 of 7 weeks at #1)
This Week's Mover and Shaker:
I'm super pleased about Twenty One Pilots - Saturday (+5) taking the biggest jump. This really deserves it! Now, let's see if it'll be in the Top 10 soon.
Jxdn/Machine Gun Kelly - Wanna Be and Dua Lipa - Love Again (-3) were tied for the biggest drop, but it was actually a short one. Though I'm still pleased about the first one managing to take it.
New Song/s on the countdown this week are:
Post Malone - Motley Crew: Oh gosh... he is now back in there. I really wish he would stop making new music, because really he's not a good singer. As far as the song goes, it's definitely garbage. With my opinion, the production is so boring, Post's vocals were so awful, and that chorus was absolutely total garbage. Although I don't mind the lyrics, because I think they're still great. But this is garbage overall because...you know. Hopefully this doesn't become a hit on there.
Conan Gray - People Watching: This is absolutely an amazing song. But definitely not as good as Overdrive, but it's still amazing. With my opinion on this one, the production was so amazing, Conan's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was so phenomenal. So yeah, this is definitely an amazing song for me to listen to overall. Hopefully this should do well on there.
Camila Cabello - Don't Go Yet: The best countdown debut this week. Gosh, I really was expecting her to make her return on there, and now there she is. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. For my opinion, the production was so phenomenal, Camila's vocals were so heavenly, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and that chorus was super phenomenal. Hopefully this should become a hit on there.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. Regard/Troye Sivan/Tate McRae - You: I'm still good with this song still standing at this spot, but I'm sure this is going to leave here within the next week or so.
4. Doja Cat/SZA - Kiss Me More: I somehow would like to see this song back in the Top 3, but I'm not sure if it's actually going to happen. But it might still just hang around in the Top 5 for a little bit longer.
3. Ed Sheeran - Bad Habits: I actually thought that this song should be moving up. But I'm sure this is going to happen very soon.
2. Marshmello/Jonas Brothers - Leave Before You Love Me: Yeah, I'm not sure if this song is ever going to hit the top spot because of what was happening there. But maybe it'll hang around in the Top 3 for a little while longer.
1. Olivia Rodrigo - Good 4 U: Holding the top spot for the 9th week in a row. Just 4 more weeks to go until this song ties the record for the most weeks spent at the top spot. But again, I don't think it's ever going to happen, but let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.
Now, let's review this week's Hit Bound:
1. Megan Thee Stallion - Thot Shit
2. Walker Hayes - Fancy Like
3. Giveon - Heartbreak Anniversary
4. Anne-Marie/Little Mix - Kiss My (Uh Oh) (DEBUT)
5. Bazzi - I Like That
6. Maroon 5 - Lost
7. Khalid - New Normal
8. Jxdn/Machine Gun Kelly - Wanna Be
9. Dixie D'Amelio/Rubi Rose - Psycho

12. BTS - Permission To Dance
13. Willow/Travis Barker - Transparent Soul
14. Maneskin - Beggin
15. Seb - Seaside Demo
16. Almost Monday - Til The End Of Time (DEBUT)
New Song/s on Hit Bound this week are:
Anne-Marie/Little Mix - Kiss My (Uh Oh): The best Hit Bound entrant this week. And don't ask me, because when I first saw the title, I was questioned about what that was when they replaced it with "uh oh". But this is definitely a phenomenal song. With my opinion, the production was super amazing, Anne-Marie's and Jessy of Little Mix's vocals both sound so phenomenal, the lyrics were so interesting, and that chorus was super phenomenal. Hopefully it'll be on the countdown soon.
Normani Kordei/Cardi B. - Wild Side: The last time we heard from her as a solo artist was Motivation back in 2019, and that was a song that I enjoyed back then. And that of course was a Hit Bound dropout at the time. And now, she's back. As far as the song goes, it's definitely amazing. But definitely not as good as Motivation, but it's still amazing. For my opinion, the production was so amazing, Normani's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were very nicely-written, and that chorus was so phenomenal. But my main issue about this song is...well, you know. Cardi B.'s verse. She still sounds so bad in her verse. But this is still an amazing song overall. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.
Almost Monday - Til The End Of Time: This is just a decent song. I really have no idea where this come from, but there's nothing here that's interesting to say about this one. Though I still like the production here, because I think it still sounds great. But the vocals here are a little strange. But the chorus here sounds decent. And I think that's all I have to say about this one. So yeah, this is a decent song for me overall. Though I'm not sure if it'll debut the countdown, but we're gonna have to see. I'll still give credit to this song if it does soon. Let's see if it'll happen.
