AT40: Sam Smith (1) Week Of December 3, 2022
So the month of December is now officially here, and that means we are a month away from the new year. Gosh, time sure dues fly by so fast. Also, my birthday is coming next Sunday. I'm going to be turning 20. Can you believe it? I'm going to be 2 decades old. Gosh, I sure am getting old. Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks so interesting. We do have yet another brand new #1 song on there this week and that of course I'll get to it later on in this post just like what I always do. #1 Song This Week One Year Ago:
Lil Nas X/Jack Harlow - Industry Baby (1st and only week at #1)
This Week's Mover and Shaker:
Rema/Selena Gomez - Calm Down, Stephen Sanchez - Until I Found You and Sia - Unstoppable (+5) were all tied for the biggest jump this week. Although I'm fine with 1 of them, but the others I'm so pleased to see.
Though I know Harry Styles - Music For A Sushi Restaurant (-7) doesn't deserve to take the biggest drop because we all know he's a super popular artist, but this song sure has been losing some airplay recently so I'm sure it's going to be on it's way out of here.
New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:
Gayle/Blackbear - FMK: The best debut this week. This is absolutely another phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as ABCDEFU, but it's actually a step up from Ur Just Horny. With my opinion, the production was so phenomenal, Gayle's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, the chorus was so heavenly, and Blackbear's vocals were super phenomenal in his verse. Let's see how this one does on there.
Omar Apollo - Evergreen (You Didn't Deserve Me At All): This is just a mediocre song. There isn't really anything interesting to say about it. Though the production was kinda weird, but Omar's vocals were okay here but not the best, and the chorus was just meh. But the lyrics are what I don't mind with, because they're still very nicely-written. But this is mediocre overall. Let's see how far this one should get on there.
Meghan Trainor - Made You Look: She has finally made her return on there since she has put out a new album last month. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing song. With my opinion on this song, the production was so amazing, Meghan's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Hopefully this should do well on there.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. Post Malone/Doja Cat - I Like You (A Happier Song): Well, it dropped out of the Top 3. I'm fine with it doing that. But I'm sure it's going to leave the Top 5 probably within the next week or so.
4. Nicki Minaj - Super Freaky Girl: It debuted the Top 5 this week. I'm so pleased to see this song in there. But I'm not sure if it's actually going to hit the Top 3, but let's see if it does soon.
3. Doja Cat - Vegas: I do have a feeling that this song might be out of the Top 3 sometime soon, but maybe I'd like it to spend a couple more weeks in the Top 3 and then be on it's way out of here.
2. Steve Lacy - Bad Habit: It dropped out of the top spot. But it still had a nice time in there last week. Although I'm sure this is about to be on it's way out of here I'm sure.
1. Sam Smith/Kim Petras - Unholy: I'm so pleased to see this song at the top spot. This really deserves to be in there. It's actually been a while since he last had a #1 song on there. Now, let's see how long it could hold the spot.
