Meghan Trainor (2) Week Of February 4, 2023

So the month of February is now here. So far this year is off to a nice start on music. Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it still looks so phenomenal, however we did get rid of my top song of last year which was sad, but we did replace it with a song that was going to be in my top songs of the year, but I'm gonna get to it later on in this post like what I always do. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Before we get to this week's Fresh 30, here are the songs dropping out of the countdown this week.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

Lil Nas X - That's What I Want (2 of 3 weeks at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

I'm so pleased about Ava Max - Weapons (+16) taking a big jump to the Top 10 on it's second week in there. This deserves it! And I'm sure hoping that it should go to the Top 5 soon.

I'm not that thrilled to see Taylor Swift - Anti-Hero (-7) taking the biggest drop after doing super phenomenal on there, but I do have a feeling that it's going to be out of here soon.

New Song/s on the countdown this week are:

Tyla - Been Thinking: She has finally made her first ever countdown appearance on there this week. And after giving this song a listen for the first time, I've actually found out that she's yet to be another talented singer which was actually so amazing. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing song. With my opinion on this one, the production was so amazing, Tyla's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were so nicely-written, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Let's see how this one does on there.

The Kid Laroi - Love Again: Well after replaces himself on Hit Bound last week, we now have this song debuting the countdown this week, which I'm actually fine with because this is actually another decent song. This is definitely not as good as Dua Lipa's song from 2 years ago with the same title. As for my opinion, the production I guess I would say is still outstanding, but again Laroi's vocals don't sound good here. He's just not a good singer in my opinion except in Stay. But other than that, I could say that the chorus was fine and I think the lyrics were still very nicely-written. But this is decent overall. Let's see how far this one should get on there.

Gracie Abrams - Where Do We Go Now: She has also made her first ever countdown appearance on there this week. And I've actually known her before this song because she opened up for Olivia Rodrigo's tour last year and this year she's going to open up for Taylor Swift's upcoming tour, which I think is so amazing. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. With my opinion on this song, the production was so phenomenal, Gracie's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see how far this gets on there.

The 1975 - I'm In Love With You: The best countdown debut this week. I've been hearing this song a lot on Alt Nation. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a heavenly song. With my opinion on this song, the production was so heavenly, Matt Healy's vocals were super heavenly, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a humongous fan of, and the chorus was super heavenly. This is definitely going to end up in my Top 10 Songs of the year. So far we have 1, so now we need to find 9 more to fill up this list. Hopefully this should do well on there.

Sam Smith/Calvin Harris/Jessie Reyez - I'm Not Here To Make Friends: After we have Gimme, he decided to collaborate with those two again for the first time since Promises back in 2018. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing song. But definitely not as good as Gimme, but it's still amazing. But in this song just like in Promises, Jessie only has backing vocals again. I wish she would actually sing in it, but not this time. But other than that, the production was so amazing, Sam's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were so nicely-written, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Let's see how this one does on there.

Ed Sheeran - F64: This song actually feels more like a rap song, which I'm actually cool with even though rap music is not my kind of genre. And it is also a tribute song to the late Jamal Edwards, which I think is so interesting. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another amazing song. With my opinion, the production was so amazing, Ed's vocals were super amazing especially in his rapping, the lyrics were super interesting, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Hopefully this should become a hit on there.

Lady Gaga - Bloody Mary: So this song was actually released in 2011 which of course is 12 years late to be on there. But maybe this song might've gone viral on TikTok or something. Maybe that might be the reason why they decided to pick this up. But this is actually an amazing song. But definitely not as good as Hold My Hand, but it's still amazing. With my opinion on this song, the production was so amazing, Gaga's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were super interesting, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Hopefully this should do well on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Taylor Swift - Lavender Haze: No! Please don't let this song drop. We all know who she is, she's a super popular artist, and she's been having loads of #1 songs on there. So I'm sure hoping it doesn't get out of the Top 5 next week.

4. Charlieonafriday - Enough: Yeah I'm not sure if it'll ever go to the Top 3 on there. But maybe it might remain in there for a few more weeks longer at the very least.

3. Miley Cyrus - Flowers: I'm so pleased to see this song in the Top 3. This totally deserves to be in there. Although I don't think it's ever going to hit the top spot on there, but this is actually it's third week on there so it might go to the top spot within the next week or so. This could be her first ever #1 song on there. But who knows? Let's see if it'll be in there next week.

2. Nicky Youre - Eyes On You: I'm still waiting for this song to be at the top spot. But I'm not sure if it'll actually be in there though. But I'm sure hoping it does soon.

1. Meghan Trainor - Made You Look: Holding the top spot for the 2nd week in a row. I'm so pleased to see this song still in there, although another song might take over this spot next week, but let's see if it'll stay in there or not.

Now, let's review this week's Hit Bound:

1. Casey Bishop - Blurry Vision

16. Charlotte Sands - Alright

New Song/s on Hit Bound this week are:

Inji - The One: This is just a decent song. There really isn't anything interesting to say about it. Though the vocals actually sound pretty good here, but my main issue here is the production, which I'm not really huge on. But the chorus actually sounded fine and I don't really mind the lyrics here, because I think they're still nicely-written. But this is a decent song overall. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Jessie Murph - About You: This is the only great Hit Bound entrant we have this week. And after giving this song a first listen, I've also found out that she's yet to be another talented singer, which is actually pretty amazing. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. With my opinion, the production was so phenomenal, Jessie's vocals were pretty phenomenal, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly. Hopefully this should make the countdown soon.
