AT40: Doja Cat (6) Week Of December 16, 2023

So I have officially turned 21 on Monday. Gosh, this feels super good to be in that age. I sure am getting old. I also went to a casino and started gambling and I thought I did well. Although I sometimes lose a lot when I gamble, but I thought I still did well on my first time there. I also went to a bar and I tried a beer for the first time and I actually thought it was pretty good. Kinda bubbly, but it's still pretty good. But yeah, I had a blast on my 21st birthday on Monday. Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks so interesting. Also, this is the last AT40 of 2023. Gosh, it sure was one heck of a year for music on there. Not much happened on here, but our Top 5 still looks interesting. But like always, I'm gonna get to it later on in this post. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Unfortunately, there are no songs leaving the countdown this week. So, let's get right into the countdown.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

Sam Smith/Kim Petras - Unholy (3 of 6 weeks at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

I'm so pleased to see Teddy Swims - Lose Control and Jack Harlow - Lovin On Me (+12) take the biggest jumps this week. They sure have been gaining lots of airplay this week. What a week it has been for both of them! Now, let's see if they'll go to the Top 20 in a few weeks.

David Kushner - Daylight (-9) sure has been losing lots of airplay recently. Although I wasn't really too thrilled to see it take the biggest drop, but I'm sure it's going to be out of here very soon.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Miley Cyrus - Used To Be Young: No, this does not deserve to drop! Come on, this better not be on it's way out of here. I'd like to see it in the Top 3 on the next countdown.

4. Tate McRae - Greedy: I'm pleased to see this song move up. And I'm sure this is going to make the Top 3 in a few weeks. Let's see if I'm right.

3. Doechii - What It Is (Block Boy): I'm sure this song is definitely leaving the Top 3 in a few weeks. But at least it still had a nice run in there.

2. Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer: Gosh, this song sure must be loving the Top 3 on there. I know it's been there for a while because of how well it did at the top spot on there. But I'm sure this might be out of here within the next couple countdowns or so.

1. Doja Cat - Paint The Town Red: Holding the top spot for the 6th week in a row. Gosh, I really am super pleased to see this song still in there. And of course it's going to stay in there for the next 2 weeks since this is the last AT40 of the year. Gosh, it sure was amazing to see a song that's going to be in my top songs of the year remain at the top spot for the rest of the year. It really has been quite another amazing year for music on there and I'm so looking forward to see what 2024 will look like for new music. Hopefully it'll be another amazing year for it.
