Tate McRae (2) Week Of October 28, 2023

So Halloween is almost here! I hope everybody's been looking out because there's going to be even more spooky and scary stuff. Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it still looks great, however we did get rid of 2 songs that were going to be in my top songs of the year, and of course they will forever be missed. But we do have an amazing Top 5 this week, but I'm gonna get to it later on in this post like always. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! #1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

Lizzo - 2 Be Loved (Am I Ready) (2 of 3 weeks at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

I'm super pleased to see Olivia Rodrigo - Get Him Back! (+16) take a huge big jump this week. This really deserves it! Now, let's see if it'll be in the Top 10 very soon.

I'm not too thrilled to see Selena Gomez - Single Soon (-8) take the biggest drop. This should've had a chance to be in the Top 5, but I feel like it might be out of here soon.

New Song/s on the countdown this week are:

The Chainsmokers/Gracey - Think Of Us: The best countdown debut this week. This is absolutely a heavenly song. Although my main issue about the song is that Andrew Taggart did not do the vocals this time. He instead worked on the production. Though he did do an amazing job on the production and it sounds super phenomenal here. And Gracey's vocals were so heavenly, I'm definitely a huge fan of the lyrics, and the chorus was super heavenly. Let's see how far this goes on there.

Doja Cat - Agora Hills: She replaces herself on there. Although I wasn't really that thrilled to see Paint The Town Red leave the countdown, but oh well. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as Paint The Town Red, but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion, the production was so phenomenal, Doja's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were so interesting, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see how this one does on there.

AJR - Yes, I'm A Mess: This song actually reminds me of Sober Up from 2018 because it actually sounds similar to it. And I've also been hearing this song a lot on Alt Nation as well. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing song. With my opinion on this song, the production was so amazing, Jack's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were super interesting, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Let's see how far this one should go on there.

The Kid Laroi/Jung Kook/Central Cee - Too Much: This is just a decent song. There really isn't anything interesting to say about it. Though I could say that this song wasn't as good as Thousand Miles by a little bit, but it's still decent. I'm not really huge on the production here, but Laroi's vocals still sound outstanding and I actually like Central Cee's verse because he also sounds so outstanding in it. And Jung Kook's vocals in the chorus were actually so amazing and the lyrics are what I don't mind with because I think they're still so nicely-written. But this is decent overall. Let's see how this one does on there.

Kenya Grace - Strangers: What I've noticed about this song is that it actually seems like it's going viral recently, which was actually so interesting. And now, here she is making her first ever countdown appearance on there. As far as the song goes, it's absolutely another phenomenal song. With my opinion on this song, the production was so phenomenal, Kenya's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see how far this one goes on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Olivia Rodrigo - Bad Idea Right?: I'm still waiting for this song to move up and get to the Top 3. But I'm really hoping that it should do it soon.

4. Miley Cyrus - Used To Be Young: It dropped out of the Top 3. But it still had a very nice run in there by spending a couple weeks at the top spot. Though I'd like it to stay in the Top 5 for a couple more weeks longer and then be out of here at the very least.

3. Fall Out Boy - We Didn't Start The Fire: I'm super pleased to see this song at the Top 3. This totally deserves to be in there! And of course I'd really like this song to be at the top spot. Though I'm not sure if it'll actually happen, but hopefully it does.

2. Doechii - What It Is (Block Boy): Wow I actually didn't expect this song to come back to this spot. But again I don't think it's ever going to hit the top spot on there, but maybe it might drop back out of the Top 3 within the next week or so.

1. Tate McRae - Greedy: Holding the top spot for the 2nd week in a row. I'm pleased that it's still in there. And I'm sure this might stay in there for a couple more weeks longer at the very least. Let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.

Now, let's review this week's Hit Bound:

New Song/s on Hit Bound this week are:

Taylor Swift - Is It Over Now: Exciting news for everybody! She has officially put out the re-recorded album that we've all been waiting for, and that is 1989 (Taylor's Version). I was really waiting for this to come out, and now it's finally here! As far as this new song goes, it's absolutely a phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as Cruel Summer, but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion, the production was so phenomenal, Taylor's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was super heavenly. Here's to hoping that it should be on the countdown very soon.

Cash Cash/Taylor Dayne - Tell It To My Heart: This was actually a remix of the original song from 1987. Though I actually enjoyed the original version of it, but I actually like this remix better. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song. With my opinion, the production was so phenomenal, Taylor's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were so nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Niall Horan/Lizzy McAlpine - You Could Start A Cult: I also heard the solo version of this song when it came out 4 months ago and it was amazing. And now he decided to do a duet version of this song and now here it is on there. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from the solo version and Meltdown. With my opinion, the production was super amazing, Niall's vocals were so phenomenal, Lizzy's vocals were super phenomenal in her contribution, the lyrics were so interesting, and the chorus was super phenomenal. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Lily Meola - Without You: I've actually known her before this song because I've seen her perform on America's Got Talent Season 17 last year and I thought she has an amazing voice. And now, here she is making her first ever appearance on there. As far as the song goes, it's absolutely a phenomenal song. With my opinion on this song, the production was so phenomenal, Lily's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Alec Benjamin - Different Kind Of Beautiful: So it's already been 4 years since we've heard his childish voice so I'm actually expecting him to get a new voice. So I gave this song a listen and... he still has that childish voice. Gosh, when is he gonna grow up and get a much better voice? It's been like that for so long. But I gotta say, this is mediocre. I still don't like his childish voice here, but the production actually sounds outstanding and the chorus sounds okay. But the lyrics were still so interesting, so I'll still give credit to that. But this is mediocre overall. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Elle Darlington - Wish You Would: We have yet another newcomer making her first ever appearance on there. Gosh, we sure have been picking up lots of brand new artists recently. As far as the song goes, it's absolutely another phenomenal song. With my opinion on this one, the production was so phenomenal, Elle's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Troye Sivan - One Of Your Girls: He replaces himself this week on there. Though I wasn't really that thrilled to see Got Me Started go, but this new song is actually a step up from it. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another amazing song. With my opinion, the production was so amazing, Troye's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Let's see if this should be on the countdown soon.
