2023: A Year In Review, Part 1: My Bottom 10 Songs Of 2023

What a year 2023 has been with music. As far as the year goes, we had a lot of amazing music throughout the year. But there's also some crappy music that we got this year. So for this post, I'm going to be counting down my Bottom 10 Songs Of 2023. We know it's not going to be every song that made Hits 1, but we know most of them are rap music, and we all know that is exactly not my type of music genre. So now, let's get to my Bottom 10 Songs Of 2023. We won't go through my dishonorable mentions because there weren't too many songs from this year that I hate, so let's just get right into it.

Bottom 10 Songs Of 2023:

10. Post Malone - Chemical - Of course you probably saw that one coming. I know I'm not gonna say this a hundred times but I really hate him and his music. He has bad producers in a lot of his songs and I really don't like his voice and this song was absolutely one of them. This is absolutely a garbage song. With my opinion, the production doesn't sound good at all, Post's vocals were so awful of course, and the chorus was absolutely garbage. But the lyrics were still fine, so I'll still give credit to that. But overall this is garbage and it deserves to be on there. Let's just move on.

9. Latto/Cardi B. - Put It On Da Floor Again - Now listen, I usually think Latto was such a talented rapper. I really enjoyed a lot of her songs. But this song does not fit very well for me. This is easily her worst song ever. I get that the fact that she collaborated with a female rapper that I really hate. This is absolutely another garbage song. The production here sounded so awful, Latto doesn't actually sound good here, the lyrics were so bad, the chorus was garbage, and of course Cardi B.'s rapping in her verse was so horrible. So yeah, it's garbage overall and it deserves to be in there. NEXT!

8. GloRilla/Cardi B. - Tomorrow 2 - Of course this was actually the remix of Tomorrow, except it was featured Cardi B. which made it worse. I really have no idea why they would do that, but my gosh this remix is garbage and even worse than the original. The production here is so bland, GloRilla's vocals were so awful, Cardi B.'s vocals were also super awful in her rapping, I'm not really huge on the lyrics, and the chorus was so generic. But yeah, this is not a fun song overall and it deserves to be on this list. I prefer the original over this even though the original wasn't that good either. Let's just move on.

7. Travis Scott/Drake - Meltdown - So they have collaborated again for the second time after Sicko Mode became a hit in 2018, and of course you remember that song was in my Bottom 10 Songs of the year at the time. And now, with this new song, this is also a super garbage song. Though not as bad as Sicko Mode, but it's still awful. With my opinion, the production was super bland, Travis's vocals were super awful, I'm definitely not a fan of the lyrics, and the chorus was super generic. But I could say that Drake sounded okay in his verse, so I'll give credit to him. But this is still a super garbage song overall and it deserves to be in there. NEXT!

6. Tyga/Jhene Aiko/Pop Smoke - Sunshine - I've went through this song when it debuted on the AT40 this year and I actually mentioned it that it could end up on this list, and now here it is on there. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another garbage song. With my opinion on this song, the production was not good at all, Tyga's vocals were so awful, Jhene Aiko's vocals were also awful and so generic in his contribution, the lyrics are not what I'm really huge on, and the chorus was super generic. But Pop Smoke's vocals don't sound that bad in his verse, so I'll still give credit to him. But this is still an extremely garbage song overall and it deserves to be in there. Let's just move on.

5. Young Nudy/21 Savage - Peaches & Eggplants - I seriously have no idea what's wrong with this song, but my gosh this song is so generic. And this was actually his first ever song to appear on this list, which sucks. With my opinion on it, the production was so generic and it also contains a pounding drum as well as synths, which of course sounds generic. And Young Nudy's vocals were super generic and he also uses gunshot sounds in the song which I really hate. And the lyrics were definitely what I'm not a fan of, the chorus was super egregious, and 21 Savage's rapping in his verse was so egregious as well. So yeah, this is such a generic song overall and it deserves to be on there. NEXT!

4. Drake/21 Savage - Spin Bout U - So they actually collaborated on 2 songs this year, this and Rich Flex, which was also awful. Out of those 2, this song has got to be the worse. This is absolutely a super generic song and this is definitely worse than Rich Flex. With my opinion, the production was super generic, Drake's vocals were super generic, the lyrics don't make any sense at all, the chorus was super egregious, and of course 21 Savage's rapping in his verse was so egregious. But yeah, this is definitely a super generic song overall and this totally deserves to be on this list. Let's just move on.

3. Bad Bunny - Where She Goes - Although this song has an English title, it does have some English lyrics, but mostly the lyrics are in Spanish, because I know he was a Puerto Rican rapper, but I know I hate him. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an egregious song. With my opinion, the production was so egregious, Bad Bunny's rapping was super egregious, some of the lyrics are what I don't understand here, and my gosh that chorus was so grating. But yeah, this deserves to be on there. It's never a good song for me to listen to. Let's move on.

2. Grupo Frontera/Bad Bunny - Un x100to - This song also uses Spanish lyrics, and of course the title means "One Percent" in Spanish as an abbreviation. But I gotta say, this song is so grating. With my opinion, the production was super egregious, the guy from Grupo Frontera sounded so grating, Bad Bunny's rapping also sounded so grating, the lyrics are what I don't understand at all, and my gosh that chorus was super grating. But yeah, it really deserves to be in there. I don't really want to listen to this song ever again. Now, let's move on to my worst song of the year.

1. Gunna - FukUMean - This is it. This is my #1 worst song of the year. This is absolutely the worst song that I've ever heard from him. It's way worse than all of his other songs. I seriously have no idea why he should make a song like this, but my gosh this song is extremely grating. With my opinion, the production was extremely grating, Gunna's vocals were extremely grating, the lyrics were super duper awful, and my gosh that chorus was extremely grating and painful to listen to. So yeah, this is definitely the worst song that I've ever heard this year. I'm so done listening to this song. I don't really want to listen to it again forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever, because this is such an extremely grating song. I really am so done with this song.
