AT40: Tate McRae (1) Week Of January 6, 2024

So 2024 is now officially here! I'm really hoping that it should be another amazing year of music. I'm so looking forward to see what new music we have trending this year and hopefully we should have some more amazing new artists throughout the year. Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks so interesting. We do have yet another brand new #1 song on there which was actually a good way to start the year even though we're out of the Golden Ages of the countdown. But it's always nice to see something new rather than the same songs. And we also have some more amazing debuts this week, but like always, I'm gonna get to them later on in this post. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Before we get to this week's Fresh 40, here are the songs dropping out of the countdown this week.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

Taylor Swift - Anti-Hero (1 of 3 weeks at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

I'm so pleased to see Jack Harlow - Lovin On Me (+11) take a big jump to the Top 20. It deserves to be in there! Now, hopefully this should go to the Top 10 very soon.

I'm fine with Noah Kahan/Post Malone - Dial Drunk (-15) taking the biggest drop. It's just decent. But I'm sure it's going to be out of here within the next week or so.

New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:

Jonas Brothers/Bailey Zimmerman - Strong Enough: This is such an interesting collaboration. And of course we all remember Bailey from a couple years ago when he had that Hit Bound dropout called Rock And A Hard Place, and that was a song that I enjoyed back then. As far as this new song goes, it's definitely an amazing song. With my opinion, the production was so amazing, both Nick and Joe sound super amazing, Bailey's vocals were also super amazing in his contribution, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Let's see how far this one goes on there.

Zach Bryan/Kacey Musgraves - I Remember Everything: I've been hearing this song a lot on The Highway. And this was also yet to be another song that has been doing super well on the country radio charts recently. And what I've also noticed about this song is that it actually debuted at #1 on the Hot 100 which was super interesting. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. With my opinion, the production was super amazing, Zach's vocals were so phenomenal, Kacey's vocals were super phenomenal in her contribution, the lyrics were so nicely-written, and the chorus was super phenomenal. Let's see how this one does on there.

AJR - Yes, I'm A Mess: This song actually reminds me of Sober Up from 2018 because it actually sounds similar to it. And I've also been hearing this song a lot on Alt Nation as well. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another amazing song. With my opinion on this song, the production was so amazing, Jack's vocals were super amazing, the lyrics were super interesting, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Let's see how far this should go on there.

Morgan Wallen - Thinkin' Bout Me: The best debut this week. And I've noticed that this song actually doesn't feel like a country song. It actually sounds more trap which was actually so interesting. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from Last Night. With my opinion on this song, the production was so phenomenal, Morgan's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly and fun. Let's see how far this goes on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Paul Russell - Lil Boo Thang: It debuted the Top 5 this week. I'm so pleased to see this song in there, though I don't think it's ever going to be in the Top 3. But let's see if it does soon.

4. Miley Cyrus - Used To Be Young: I'm pleased to see it move back up. Now, I really would like to see this song in the Top 3 within the next week or so.

3. Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer: Well I'm sure this song is about to be out of the Top 3 because I know it's been in there for a while. But it still had an amazing time in there.

2. Doja Cat - Paint The Town Red: It dropped out of the top spot. But it still had a phenomenal run on there for the rest of 2023. And I'm sure this song is going to stay in the Top 3 for a while because of how well it did. Let's see how long it'll remain in there.

1. Tate McRae - Greedy: I'm so pleased to see this song at the top spot. I actually expected it to be in there. This totally deserves it! Now, let's see how long it'll hold the spot.
