AT40: Tate McRae (7) Week Of February 17, 2024

As far as the Super Bowl goes, I thought that it actually went super amazing. Though it's actually long, but I still had a blast watching it. The Chiefs won that one 22-25. The game went to overtime after both teams were tied at 19. Then the 49ers came back in the lead after a field goal and then with 3 seconds left of overtime, Patrick Mahomes threw the ball to Mecole Hardman for the game-winning touchdown to give them their second straight Super Bowl title. I'm so pleased to see this happen. And I'm also pleased to see Mahomes get his second straight Super Bowl title. He really deserves it! And I thought Usher did an amazing job at the halftime show. He nailed his performance especially when he performed some of his old songs in it. But yeah, this is such a fun game overall. Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks super amazing. We do have some more amazing debuts this week, but like always, I'm gonna get to them later on in this post. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Before we get to this week's Fresh 40, here are the songs dropping out of the countdown this week.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

The Weeknd - Die For You (1 of 2 weeks at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

Jung Kook/Usher - Standing Next To You, Noah Kahan - Stick Season and Sabrina Carpenter - Feather (+5) were all tied for the biggest jump this week which I'm pleased to see. What a week it has been for all of them!

I'm not too thrilled to see AJR - Yes, I'm A Mess (-7) take the biggest drop. This should've made the Top 20! But I'm sure this is going to be the end of it.

New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:

Renee Rapp/Megan Thee Stallion - Not My Fault: The best debut this week. So I've heard that she was the star in the new Mean Girls movie. And now we have one of the songs from that soundtrack making it's debut on there this week. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from Too Well and Bruises. With my opinion on it, the production was so phenomenal, Renee's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, the chorus was so heavenly, and Megan's rapping in her verse was pretty heavenly. Hopefully this should do well on there.

Justin Timberlake - Selfish: After doing two re-teamings last year, he's got a new solo album coming soon. I'm really looking forward to see what it looks like when it comes out. And now, here's one of the songs from that upcoming album on there. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as Better Place, but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion on this song, the production was so phenomenal, Justin's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly and fun. And I'm sure this is going to do amazing on there since it debuted in the Top 20 on there. Let's see how this one does on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Taylor Swift - Is It Over Now: Gosh, this song seriously needs to get moving. Also, I'm super happy for her after the Chiefs' Super Bowl win and I love her reaction of the game-winning touchdown at the end of the game. I also saw her on the field with Travis Kelce after the Vince Lombardi trophy ceremony which was super amazing. But in the meantime, this song needs to get moving and get to the Top 3. I don't really want to see it out of the Top 5.

4. Doja Cat - Paint The Town Red: I actually didn't expect this song to be out of the Top 3, but at least it's still in the Top 5 which was always a good thing. But I'm sure this might start dropping very soon.

3. Doja Cat - Agora Hills: So she replaced herself in the Top 3 this week. I'm so pleased to see this song in the Top 3. It deserves to be in there! And I'm really hoping that it should go to the top spot soon.

2. Jack Harlow - Lovin On Me: Well I don't think this song is ever going to hit the top spot because of what's going on in there. But maybe it might stay in the Top 3 for a few more weeks and then be on it's way out of here.

1. Tate McRae - Greedy: Holding the top spot for the 7th week in a row. Wow, how on Earth has this song been getting super popular on there recently? It really has been doing so phenomenal on there. Now, let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.
