Dua Lipa (2) Week Of February 10, 2024

So again the Super Bowl is this weekend. I'm super excited to watch it on Sunday! The San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs are going to be playing in it this time. It's going to be a rematch from 2020 before the pandemic happened. I'm going for the Chiefs to win this one. And I'm also excited to see Usher perform at the halftime show. Hopefully he does an amazing job on it! Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks super amazing. We did get rid of yet another piece of trash which was an amazing thing to see. And we also have quite another interesting Top 5 this week. But like always, I'm gonna get to it later on in this post. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Before we get to this week's Fresh 30, here are the songs dropping out of the countdown this week.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

Miley Cyrus - Flowers (1 of 6 weeks at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

I'm so pleased to see Renee Rapp/Megan Thee Stallion - Not My Fault take the biggest jump. This totally deserves it! Usher/Summer Walker/21 Savage - Good Good (+4) was also tied for the biggest jump this week which was actually fitting because he's going to be performing at the halftime show at the Super Bowl. And this also deserves to take it!

I'm not too thrilled to see Lewis Capaldi - Strangers (-7) take the biggest drop. Come on, this needs to get going and not leave! But hopefully it'll move back up soon.

New Song/s on the countdown this week are:

P1Harmony - Fall In Love Again: We have yet another brand new K-Pop group making their very first countdown appearance on there this week. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. With my opinion on this one, the production was super amazing, the vocals were so phenomenal, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was super phenomenal. Let's see how far this one goes on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Jonas Brothers/Bailey Zimmerman - Strong Enough: Yeah I somehow like this song to stay in the Top 5 for at least a couple more weeks. Although I know it's out of the Top 3, but I still would like to see it remain in the Top 5 for at least a couple more weeks and then be out of here.

4. Tate McRae - Greedy: Yeah I'm sure this song is probably going to stay in the Top 5 for a few more weeks longer because of how well it did at the top spot. Let's see how long it'll remain in there.

3. Teddy Swims - Lose Control: I'm pleased to see this song back in the Top 3. I actually didn't expect it to come back in there, but it just had to do it.

2. Sabrina Carpenter - Feather: Yeah I don't think this song is ever going to hit the top spot on there. She hasn't been having #1 songs on there recently so I'm sure this song is going to be out of the Top 3 sometime soon.

1. Dua Lipa - Houdini: Holding the top spot for the 2nd week in a row. I'm so pleased that it's still in there. It really is starting to get popular on there. Now, let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.

Now, let's review this week's Hit Bound:

1. Willow Avalon - Honey Ain't No Sweeter

2. MAX/Huh Yunjin - Stupid In Love (DEBUT)

3. Charlieonafriday - Somebody New

4. Knox - Here's To Us

5. Girl In Red - Too Much (DEBUT)

6. Jagwar Twin - Bad Feeling (Oompa Loompa)

7. Noah Kahan/Brandi Carlile - You're Gonna Go Far (DEBUT)

10. 24kgoldn - Clarity (DEBUT)

11. Em Beihold - Maybe Life Is Good (DEBUT)

12. Flyana Boss - Candyman

13. Fall Out Boy - So Much (For) Stardust

14. Alec Benjamin - Pick Me

15. Eliza Rose/Calvin Harris - Body Moving

16. Teddy Swims - The Door

New Song/s on Hit Bound this week are:

MAX/Huh Yunjin - Stupid In Love: The best Hit Bound entrant this week. This is absolutely a heavenly song and it's actually the best song that I've ever heard from him. It's definitely a huge step up from Strings and all of his other songs. With my opinion on this one, the production was so heavenly, MAX's vocals were super heavenly, Huh Yunjin's vocals were also super heavenly in her contribution, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a humongous fan of, and the chorus was extremely heavenly. This is definitely going to end up in my Top 10 Songs of the year when it makes the countdown. Hopefully it'll be in there soon.

Girl In Red - Too Much: I've been hearing this song a lot on Alt Nation. Now, in case you remember, she had a Hit Bound dropout back in 2021 called Serotonin, and that was a song that I enjoyed back then. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from Serotonin. With my opinion, the production was so phenomenal, her vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Noah Kahan/Brandi Carlile - You're Gonna Go Far: So he released a new version of his Stick Season album recently, with remixes of the songs from the original album. And here's another one of the songs from that new album on there. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing song and it's definitely a step up from Stick Season. With my opinion, the production was so amazing, Noah's vocals were super amazing, Brandi's vocals were so phenomenal in her contribution, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Hopefully it'll be on the countdown soon.

Conan Gray - Lonely Dancers: I know people have said that this sounds like a Depeche Mode song in a way. But I know this sounds more accurate than that. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from Never Ending Song. With my opinion, the production was so phenomenal, Conan's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see if this should be on the countdown soon.

24kgoldn - Clarity: We've now picked up a new song from him after Good Intentions dropped out of here a couple weeks ago. But I gotta say, this is also a decent song. Though it's actually a step up from Good Intentions, but it's still decent. Goldn's vocals still don't sound good here and the chorus was decent, but the production was still so amazing and the lyrics were still super nicely-written, so I'll definitely still give credit to them. But this is another decent song overall for me. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Em Beihold - Maybe Life Is Good: This is her first solo song on there since Too Precious from 2 years ago, which was actually super interesting. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from Too Precious. With my opinion on this song, the production was so phenomenal, Em's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was so heavenly. Here's to hoping that it should be on the countdown soon.
