Hozier (4) Week Of June 1, 2024

So the month of June is now upon us and now I only have 1 week left of my 3rd year of college. Gosh, time sure is flying by so fast! I can't wait for summer next week. Hopefully I'll do some fun stuff this summer! Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks super phenomenal. We did get rod if a piece of trash and now we're back to having no bad songs on there which was the best thing. And we do have some more amazing debuts this week. But like always, I'm gonna get to them later on in this post. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Before we get to this week's Fresh 30, here are the songs dropping out of the countdown this week.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

Fall Out Boy - Love From The Other Side (3rd and final week at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

I'm so pleased to see Marshmello/Kane Brown - Miles On It (+7) gain sone airplay on there throughout the week. It really deserves to do that! Now, hopefully it'll go to the Top 20 very soon.

Benson Boone - Beautiful Things (-10) took the biggest drop this week which I actually didn't expect to happen. Although I wasn't that thrilled to see it do that, but I'm sure it's going to be out of here sometime soon.

New Song/s on the countdown this week are:

Tommy Richman - MILLION DOLLAR BABY: So I've heard this song has been going viral recently and it has actually debuted in the Top 5 on the Hot 100 last month, which was super duper interesting. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing song. With my opinion on this one, the production was so amazing, Tommy's vocals were super remarkable, the lyrics were very nicely-written, and the chorus was so phenomenal. Let's see how this one does on there.

David Guetta/OneRepublic - I Don't Wanna Wait: The best countdown debut this week. And what I've noticed about this song is that this song actually samples the 2003 meme song Dragostea Din Tei from O-Zone, just like what T.I. did with Live Your Life back in 2008, which was super interesting. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a heavenly EDM song. With my opinion on this song, the production was super phenomenal, Ryan's vocals were so heavenly, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was super heavenly. Hopefully this should do well on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Dua Lipa - Illusion: No, this shouldn't be dropping! This seriously needs to be in the Top 3, although I'm not sure if it'll actually happen.

4. Taylor Swift/Post Malone - Fortnight: I'm fine with this song moving up. Although I will still give credit to this song when it gets to the Top 3 very soon. Let's see if it'll be in there.

3. Olivia Rodrigo - Obsessed: Can we please not let this song drop? Come on, this seriously needs to get to the top spot very soon.

2. Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso: It's almost at the top spot! Although I'm not sure if it'll actually go in there, but I'm really hoping that it should very soon.

1. Hozier - Too Sweet: Holding the top spot for the 4th week in a row. Gosh, this song sure has been doing so phenomenal on there. Although I'm sure another song might take over the spot very soon, but let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.

Now, let's review this week's Hit Bound:

1. Imagine Dragons - Nice To Meet You (DEBUT)

2. Saweetie - NANi

3. Knox - Change Your Mind

4. Charli XCX - 360

5. Eminem - Houdini (DEBUT)

6. Myles Smith - Stargazing

7. Lay Bankz - Tell Ur Girlfriend

8. Dua Lipa - These Walls

9. Alec Benjamin/Khalid - Ways To Go

10. Tyla/Gunna/Skillibeng - Jump

11. Charlie Puth - Hero

12. Meghan Trainor/Niecy Nash - I Wanna Thank Me (DEBUT)

13. Twenty One Pilots - The Craving

14. Henry Moodie - Drunk Text

15. PinkPantheress - Turn It Up (DEBUT)

16. Teddy Swims - Hammer To The Heart

New Song/s on Hit Bound this week are:

Imagine Dragons - Nice To Meet You: This is absolutely another phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from Eyes Closed. And what I've noticed about the song is that on an Instagram live, Dan Reynolds described the lyrics to the song that it's about the dating process, which was super interesting. With my opinion on this one, the retro type production was so phenomenal and fun, Dan's vocals were super incredible, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.

Eminem - Houdini: The best Hit Bound entrant this week. And what I've noticed about the song is that it actually interpolates three of his songs Without Me, My Name Is and Just Lose It, as well as Steve Miller Band's 1982 hit song Abracadabra, which was super duper interesting. As far as the song goes, it's absolutely a super heavenly song and this is definitely the best song that I've ever heard from him. It's definitely a huge step up from Dua Lipa's song of the same title and all of his other songs. With my opinion on this song, the production was super heavenly, Eminem's rapping was extremely heavenly, I'm definitely a humongous fan of the lyrics, and the chorus was extremely heavenly. This is definitely going to end up in my Top 5 Songs of the year when it makes the countdown. Hopefully it'll be in there soon.

Meghan Trainor/Niecy Nash - I Wanna Thank Me: This is absolutely another phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as Been Like This, but it's still phenomenal. And what I've noticed about this song is that Niecy Nash only does a spoken intro on this song, which was super phenomenal. But other than that, the production was so phenomenal, Meghan's vocals were super phenomenal, I'm definitely a huge fan of the lyrics, and the chorus was so heavenly and I really fell in love with it. Let's see if this should make the countdown soon.

PinkPantheress - Turn It Up: We've now picked up a new single from her after Nice To Meet You (no, I'm not talking about the song that debuted on there this week.) dropped out of Hit Bound late last year. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from Nice To Meet You. With my opinion on it, the production was so phenomenal, PinkPantheress's vocals were super marvelous, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly. Hopefully this should be on the countdown soon.
