Hozier (5) Week Of June 8, 2024
So I'm now officially done with my third year of college and now I'm on summer break. I feel like I've done an amazing job overall this school year. And now I only have one more year left of my college career and then I won't be in school anymore! Now I can have fun and be in the sun and do a lot of fun stuff throughout the summer. Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks so phenomenal. We do have another debut this week that was going to be in my top songs of the year. But like always, I'm gonna get to it later on in this post. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! This Week's Mover and Shaker:
I'm super pleased to see Ariana Grande - The Boy Is Mine (+14) take a huge biggest jump into the Top 10. This really deserves it! Now, hopefully it'll go to the Top 5 very soon.
I'm not too thrilled about Knox - Me Myself & Your Eyes take the biggest drop. But what's also tied for the biggest drop is Ariana Grande - We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love) (-6), which I wasn't too thrilled to see either. But she did replace herself in the Top 10 which was always a nice thing. But I'm sure both of those songs are going to be out of here very soon.
New Song/s on the countdown this week are:
Eminem - Houdini: The best countdown debut this week. He has now made his big return on there since River with Ed Sheeran 6 years ago. And what I've noticed about this song is that it actually interpolates three of his songs Without Me, My Name Is and Just Lose It, as well as Steve Miller Band's 1982 hit song Abracadabra, which was super duper interesting. As far as the song goes, it's absolutely a super heavenly song and this is definitely the best song that I've ever heard from him. It's definitely a huge step up from Dua Lipa's song of the same title and all of his other songs. With my opinion on this song, the production was super heavenly, Eminem's rapping was extremely heavenly, I'm definitely a humongous fan of the lyrics, and the chorus was extremely heavenly. This is definitely going to end up in my Top 5 Songs of the year. Hopefully it'll become a hit on there.
Twenty One Pilots - The Craving: So they just released a new album Clancy, and now we have one of the songs from the album making it's debut on there this week. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from Backslide. With my opinion on it, the production was so phenomenal, Tyler's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were so interesting, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see how far this gets on there.
Billie Eilish - Birds Of A Feather: We have the other song from her new album making it's debut on there this week. But this is also a decent song. Though I could say that this is actually a step up from Lunch, but it's still decent. With my opinion on this song, the production was super amazing here, but once again Billie's vocals don't sound good here and she still has that childish voice and I could say that the chorus was decent. But the lyrics were still what I'm a huge fan of, so I'll still give credit to that. But this is another decent song overall. Let's see how far this goes on there.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. Taylor Swift/Post Malone - Fortnight: I'm fine with this song dropping, but I'm sure this might come back up and get to the Top 3 soon. But let's see what happens next.
4. Dua Lipa - Illusion: I'm pleased to see this song move back up to this spot. Now, this better get to the Top 3 within the next week or so.
3. Olivia Rodrigo - Obsessed: I'm pleased that it's still in the Top 3, but I'm sure this might get out of here within the next week or so. I don't think this song is ever going to be at the top spot.
2. Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso: Yeah I'm not sure if it'll go to the top spot mainly because of what's going on in there. But hopefully it'll do it very soon.
1. Hozier - Too Sweet: Holding the top spot for the 5th week in a row. Gosh, how on Earth has this song been doing super well on there recently? I feel like this song is going to end up becoming his biggest hit song in his career. Now, let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.
Now, let's review this week's Hit Bound:
1. Tyla/Gunna/Skillibeng - Jump
2. Halsey - The End (DEBUT)
3. Dua Lipa - These Walls
4. Gracie Abrams - Close To You (DEBUT)

13. Teddy Swims - Hammer To The Heart
14. Myles Smith - Stargazing
15. Lay Bankz - Tell Ur Girlfriend
16. Imagine Dragons - Nice To Meet You
New Song/s on Hit Bound this week are:
Halsey - The End: She's finally back with new music after health battles. And what the heck is this song? This is absolutely the worst song that I've ever heard from her. Also, this was the first song that I hate from her since Without Me back in 2019 in case you're new here. This is absolutely a garbage song. The production was so terrible, Halsey's vocals were so awful and she's whispering throughout the whole song. I get that she's trying to stay away from her health problems, but it still does not work for me. And the chorus was also garbage but I don't mind the lyrics because I think they're still so interesting. But this is still a crappy song overall. This better not be on the countdown.
Gracie Abrams - Close To You: So apparently she wrote part of this song 7 years ago but she has finished it just now. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song and it's actually a little bit of a step up from Risk. With my opinion on this song, the production was so phenomenal, Gracie's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were so miraculous, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see if this should make the countdown soon.
Sabrina Carpenter - Please Please Please: The best Hit Bound entrant this week. Since Espresso hit the Top 5 on the countdown, we've now picked up a new single from her on there. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as Espresso, but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion on this one, the production was so phenomenal, Sabrina's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were super interesting, and the chorus was so heavenly. Hopefully this should be on the countdown soon.
Meghan Trainor - Whoops: She replaces herself on there this week. Though I wasn't really too thrilled to see I Wanna Thank Me not be on the countdown, but this new song is actually another phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as I Wanna Thank Me, but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion, the production was super amazing, Meghan's vocals were so phenomenal, the lyrics were very interesting, and the chorus was super phenomenal. Let's see if it'll be on the countdown soon.
Raye - Genesis, Pt. II: What I've noticed about this song is that it's actually 7 minutes long, but she also released the song in 3 parts, so now we have the 2nd part making it's debut on there this week. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song. With my opinion on it, the production was super amazing, Raye's vocals were so phenomenal, the lyrics were so interesting, and the chorus was super phenomenal. Let's see if it'll go to the countdown soon.
Wallows - Calling After Me: I actually did not expect this song to come back on there after 3 months since it dropped out of here, but I'm pleased that it somehow managed to do it. Now, let's see if this should have another chance to be on the countdown soon.
