AT40: Hozier (1) Week Of June 29, 2024
As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it actually looks so phenomenal. We are now back in the Golden Ages of the countdown because we have another brand new #1 song on there that is going to be on my top songs of the year, and we also have one debut this week that was also going to be in my top songs of the year. #1 Song This Week One Year Ago:
Miguel - Sure Thing (5 of 7 weeks at #1)
This Week's Mover and Shaker:
For the second week in a row, Chappell Roan - Good Luck, Babe! (+7) took the biggest jump this week as it jumped to the Top 30. I'm pleased to see it do that. Now, hopefully this song should go to the Top 20 soon.
Beyonce/Miley Cyrus - II Most Wanted (-8) has been losing some airplay recently. Although I'm not really that thrilled to see it take the biggest drop, but I'm sure it's going to be out of here very soon.
New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:
Twenty One Pilots - The Craving: So they just released a new album Clancy, and now we have one of the songs from the album making it's debut on there this week. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from Backslide. With my opinion on it, the production was so phenomenal, Tyler's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were so interesting, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see how far this gets on there.
Ariana Grande - The Boy Is Mine: Since We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love) hit the top spot on there a few weeks ago, this song has now made it's debut on there. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love), but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion on this song, the production was so phenomenal, Ariana's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were so nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly. Here's to hoping that it should become a hit on there.
Eminem - Houdini: The best debut this week. He has now made his big return on there. Gosh, I was actually expecting him to come back in there, and now here he is. And what I've noticed about this song is that it actually interpolates three of his songs. Without Me, My Name Is and Just Lose It, as well as Steve Miller Band's 1982 hit song Abracadabra, which was super duper interesting. As far as the song goes, it's absolutely a super heavenly song and this is definitely the best song that I've ever heard from him. it's definitely a huge step up from Dua Lipa's song of the same title and all of his other songs. With my opinion on this song, the production was super heavenly, Eminem's rapping was extremely heavenly, I'm definitely a humongous fan of the lyrics, and the chorus was extremely heavenly. This is definitely going to end up in my Top 5 Songs of the year. Hopefully this should become a huge hit on there.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. Ariana Grande - We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love): I'm glad that it's still in the Top 5, but I do have a feeling that it might be out of here soon. But again I'd like it to stay in there for a couple more weeks and then be out of here.
4. Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso: I'm super pleased to see this song in the Top 5. This totally deserves to be in there! And I'm sure hoping that this could go to the Top 3 and get to the top spot very soon.
3. Benson Boone - Beautiful Things: Well it's finally about to be out of the Top 3. But again I'm still pleased that it's still in there, but I know it has been there for long so I'm sure this might be it's last week in there.
2. SZA - Saturn: It dropped out of the top spot. But it still had an amazing time in there for a couple weeks. Though I'd like it to stay in the Top 5 for at least a few more weeks or so.
1. Hozier - Too Sweet: I'm super duper pleased to see this song at the top spot. This totally deserves to be in there! And I really would like it to stay in there for at least a few more weeks. Let's see how long it'll hold the spot.
