AT40: Hozier (2) Week Of July 6, 2024

So we are now officially halfway through the year. I thought that we had lots of amazing music that we've picked up throughout the first half. Hopefully we should have lots of more amazing music in the second half! Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks so phenomenal. There has been lots of phenomenal stuff happening on there including our biggest jump this week. But like always, I'm gonna get to it later on in this post. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Before we get to this week's Fresh 40, here are the songs dropping out of the countdown this week.

I'm super pleased to see Eminem - Houdini (+15) take the biggest jump to the Top 20 this week. This totally deserves it! Now, hopefully this should go to the Top 10 soon.

I'm not too thrilled about Olivia Rodrigo - Obsessed (-14) taking the biggest drop all the way out of the Top 30 from the Top 20. But I do have a feeling that it's going to be the end of it.

New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:

Billie Eilish - Birds Of A Feather: This song has now joined Lunch on there. But I gotta say, this is also a decent song. Although I could say that this is actually a step up from Lunch, but it's still decent. With my opinion on this song, the production was super amazing here, but again Billie's vocals still don't sound good here and she still has that childish voice and I could say that the chorus was decent. But the lyrics were still what I'm a huge fan of, so I'll still give credit to that. But this is a decent song overall. Let's see how far this goes on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Taylor Swift/Post Malone - Fortnight: I'm fine with this song in the Top 5. Of course it has to be there because it's from a collaboration of two artists who had a lot of Top 5 songs on there, so I'm fine with that. Now, let's see if it'll get to the Top 3 soon.

4. SZA - Saturn: Well it's out of the Top 3, but like what I said I'd like this song to stay in the Top 5 for at least a few more weeks and then be out of here. But let's see what happens next.

3. Benson Boone - Beautiful Things: Gosh, this song must been enjoying the Top 3 on there. But I do know it has been in there for a while so I'm sure this is going to be out of here sometime soon.

2. Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso: It's almost at the top spot! And of course I'd really like this song to get to the top spot next week. Let's see if it'll happen.

1. Hozier - Too Sweet: Holding the top spot for the 2nd week in a row. I'm super pleased that it's still in there, but like what I said I'd like another song to get to the top spot next week, but let's see if it'll stay in there or not.
