AT40: Sabrina Carpenter (1) Week Of July 20, 2024

As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks super phenomenal. We are still in the Golden Ages of the countdown because we do have another brand new #1 song that was going to be in my top songs of the year, and we also have one debut this week that was also going to be in my top songs of the year which was always an amazing thing. But like always, I'm gonna get to it later on in this post. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! #1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

Taylor Swift - Karma (1 of 3 weeks at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

Sabrina Carpenter - Please Please Please (+12) sure has been gaining airplay throughout the week. I'm pleased to see it take the biggest jump. Now, hopefully it'll go to the Top 20 next week.

Shinedown - A Symptom Of Being Human (-10) is about to be out of here as it has been losing airplay recently. I'm sure this is going to be out of here within the next week or so.

New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:

David Guetta/OneRepublic - I Don't Wanna Wait: What I've noticed about this song is that it actually samples the 2003 meme song Dragostea Din Tei from O-Zone, just like what T.I. did with Live Your Life back in 2008, which was super interesting. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a heavenly EDM song. With my opinion on this song, the production was super phenomenal, Ryan's vocals were so heavenly, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was super heavenly. Let's see how far this goes on there.

Coldplay - Feelslikeimfallinginlove: The best debut this week. They've made their return on there since My Universe with BTS back in 2021, and that was my #1 song of the year back then. As far as this new song goes, it's definitely an extremely heavenly song. But definitely not as good as My Universe, but it's still heavenly. With my opinion on this song, the production was super heavenly, Chris's vocals were extremely heavenly, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was extremely heavenly. This is definitely going to end up in my Top 5 Songs of the year. Hopefully it'll do amazing on there.

Black Eyed Peas/El Alfa/Becky G - Tonight: This was actually the second time that the Black Eyed Peas and El Alfa collaborated because I know the last time they collaborated was Simply The Best with Annita 2 years ago, and that was a song that I enjoyed back then. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal and fun song and it's actually a step up from Simply The Best. With my opinion, the production was so phenomenal, will.i.am, El Alfa and Becky G all sound super phenomenal, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly. Hopefully it'll do well on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Taylor Swift/Post Malone - Fortnight: Again I'm fine with it still in this spot. But like what I said this is probably going to move up and get to the Top 3 very soon. But let's see what happens next.

4. Benson Boone - Beautiful Things: It's finally out of the Top 3. Gosh, it sure has been in there for a while. But I'm sure this is about to be on it's way out of here.

3. Post Malone/Morgan Wallen - I Had Some Help: It debuted the Top 5 this week all the way to the Top 3. I'm fine with this song in there, though I'm sure this is going to be at the top spot soon and I'll still give credit to it if it does. Let's see if it'll happen.

2. Hozier - Too Sweet: It dropped out of the top spot. But it still had an amazing run in there. Though I'd like it to stay in the Top 3 for a little while at the very least.

1. Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso: I'm super duper pleased to see this song at the top spot. It totally deserves to be in there! And I'd really like this song to stay in the top spot for a few more weeks longer. Let's see how long it'll hold the spot.
