AT40: Sabrina Carpenter (2) Week Of July 27, 2024
As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks so interesting, although we did get rid of a song that was in my top songs of last year, but we do have some more interesting debuts and another interesting Top 5 this week. But I'm gonna get to them later on in this post like always. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! #1 Song This Week One Year Ago:
Taylor Swift - Karma (2 of 3 weeks at #1)
This Week's Mover and Shaker:
Sabrina Carpenter - Please Please Please (+7) took the biggest jump to the Top 20 this week. I'm so pleased to see it do that, and I'm sure hoping that it should go to the Top 10 soon.
Jessie Murph/Jelly Roll - Wild Ones (-8) sure has been losing airplay recently. I'm not really too thrilled to see it take the biggest drop, but I'm sure this is going to be the end of it.
New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:
Isabel LaRosa - Favorite: The best debut this week. Now in case you remember 2 years ago, she had a Hit Bound dropout called I'm Yours, and I've been enjoying this song back then. And now she has her first ever appearance on there this week. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal and fun song and it's actually a step up from I'm Yours. With my opinion on this song, the reggae production was so phenomenal and fun, Isabel's vocals were super incredible, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see how far this goes on there.
Kendrick Lamar - Not Like Us: It's actually been a while since we last heard from him. But he's now finally back. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal and fun song. With my opinion on it, the production was so phenomenal, Kendrick's vocals were super phenomenal especially in his flow, the lyrics were so nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see how this one does on there.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. Taylor Swift/Post Malone - Fortnight: Gosh, I feel like this song doesn't want to move up. But again I'm okay with it still holding the spot. Though I'm not sure if it'll go to the Top 3, but let's see what happens next.
4. Tommy Richman - MILLION DOLLAR BABY: This has now become his first ever Top 5 song on there. I'm so glad to see this song in there and I'm hoping that it'll go to the Top 3 soon.
3. Post Malone/Morgan Wallen - I Had Some Help: I'm fine with this song still standing at this spot. But I'm sure this is going to move up and get to the top spot sometime soon. Let's see if it'll do it.
2. Hozier - Too Sweet: Yeah I'd like it to stay in the Top 3 for a little while. I know it has been doing so well on the pop radio charts recently. Let's see how long it'll remain in there.
1. Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso: Holding the top spot for the 2nd week in a row. I'm super duper pleased that it's still in there. It really has been doing so well lately. Now, let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.
