AT40: Chappell Roan (1) Week Of September 28, 2024

As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks super amazing. We do have yet another brand new #1 song on there, which was always a nice thing to see. And we also have quite some more amazing stuff happening on there including our biggest jumps this week. But like always, I'm gonna get to them later on in this post. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Before we get to this week's Fresh 40, here are the songs dropping out of the countdown this week.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

Dua Lipa - Dance The Night (1st and only week at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

Jimin - Who and Lady Gaga/Bruno Mars - Die With A Smile (+3) took a short biggest jump this week. Though I wish they would've jumped more spots than that. But still, what a week it has been for all of them!

I'm really not too thrilled to see Eminem - Houdini (-7) take the biggest drop out of the Top 20. This totally does not deserve to take it! But I know it has been losing airplay so I'm sure it's about to be on it's way out of here.

New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:

Halsey - Ego: The best debut this week. She has now officially made her return on there this week. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song and it's actually a step up from Lonely Is The Muse. With my opinion on this one, the punk rock production was so phenomenal, Halsey's vocals were super unstoppable, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly. Hopefully this should do well on there.

Machine Gun Kelly/Jelly Roll - Lonely Road: What I've noticed about this song is that it actually samples John Denver's 1971 hit song Take Me Home, Country Roads, which I think is so interesting. As far as the song goes, it's definitely an amazing song. With my opinion, the production from Travis Barker was so amazing, both MGK and Jelly Roll sound super amazing, I'm definitely a huge fan of the lyrics, and the chorus and samples were so phenomenal. Let's see how this one does on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Tommy Richman - MILLION DOLLAR BABY: I'm pleased that it's still in the Top 5, but again I'm sure this is going to be out of here sometime soon.

4. Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso: Gosh, this song sure must be loving the Top 5 on there. I know it's because of how well it has been doing everywhere. But I'm sure this is going to be out of here pretty soon.

3. Sabrina Carpenter - Please Please Please: It dropped out of the top spot. But it still had a nice time in there for a couple more weeks. Though I'd like it to stay in the Top 3 for at least a few more weeks and then be out of here.

2. Billie Eilish - Birds Of A Feather: I'm fine with this song at this spot. And it's almost at the top spot so if it gets to there, I'll still give credit to it. Let's see if it'll be in there soon.

1. Chappell Roan - Good Luck, Babe!: She now has her first ever #1 song on there which was absolutely amazing. I'm so pleased to see it in there. Now, let's see how long it'll hold the spot.
