AT40: Tommy Richman (1) Week Of September 7, 2024
So I have officially started my final year of college on Tuesday. So far I'm doing well on my first week. Hopefully I'll keep it up throughout the school year! By the way, I do have a new color for my color-coding code:
Dark Green = Song Is Old But I Still Like It
I know a lot of my fellow bloggers use brown as that, but brown means I have no opinion on a song for this blog. So I decided to use dark green for a song that was old even though I still like the song. Hopefully you guys like it! Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks so interesting, however we did get rid of a song that was going to be in my top songs of the year and of course it will forever be missed. But we do have another brand new #1 song on there which was always a nice thing to see. And we also have some more amazing debuts this week. But like always, I'm gonna get to them later on in this post. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Before we get to this week's Fresh 40, here are the songs dropping out of the countdown this week.
Katy Perry - Woman's World

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:
Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer (3 of 7 weeks at #1)
This Week's Mover and Shaker:
I'm so pleased to see Isabel LaRosa - Favorite (+8) take the biggest jump. This really deserves it! Now, hopefully this should go to the Top 20 soon.
I'm not too thrilled to see Gracie Abrams - Risk take the biggest drop. But I know it has been losing lots of airplay recently. But what's also tied for the biggest drop is Billie Eilish - Lunch (-11), which took the biggest drop for the second week in a row, which I'm fine with that once again. But I know they're going to be out of here very soon.
New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:
Tinashe - Nasty: This song has actually been charting for about a couple months so now it's finally time for this song to make it's debut on there! And of course it's actually been a while since we last heard from her. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. With my opinion on this one, the production was so phenomenal, Tinashe's vocals were unstoppable, the lyrics were super interesting, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see how far this goes on there.
Lady Gaga/Bruno Mars - Die With A Smile: I've noticed that those two collaborated since a few weeks ago even though they've been around since the late 2000's/early 2010's. But now here they are on there. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. With my opinion on this one, the production was so phenomenal, both Gaga and Bruno sound super phenomenal, I'm definitely a huge fan of the lyrics, and the chorus was so heavenly. Hopefully this should do well on there.
Jelly Roll - I Am Not Okay: I've been hearing this song a lot on The Highway. And of course he's back in there after Save Me left last month. As far as this new song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as Save Me, but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion, the production was so phenomenal, Jelly Roll's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were so interesting, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see how far this gets on there.
Chappell Roan - Hot To Go!: The best debut this week. We now have this song debuting on there since Good Luck, Babe is in the Top 10 and most likely going to be in the Top 5 very soon. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a heavenly song and it's definitely a step up from Good Luck, Babe. With my opinion on this song, the cheerleader-style pop production was super phenomenal, Chappell's vocals were so heavenly, I'm definitely a humongous fan of the lyrics, and the chorus was super heavenly. Hopefully this should become a hit on there.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. Hozier - Too Sweet: I'm sure this is going to be it's last week in there. But again it still had an amazing run, but I'm sure it's going to be out of here next week.
4. Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso: It dropped out of the Top 3. Gosh, I know it's been in there for so long because of how well it has been doing. But I'm sure this might get out of the Top 5 very soon.
3. Sabrina Carpenter - Please Please Please: This song has now debuted the Top 3 replacing Espresso on there. I'm pleased that it's in there, and I'm sure hoping that it should go to the top spot very soon.
2. Shaboozey - A Bar Song (Tipsy): It dropped out of the top spot. But it still had a nice run in there for a couple weeks. Though I'd somehow like it to stay in the Top 3 for a few more weeks at the very least.
1. Tommy Richman - MILLION DOLLAR BABY: There it is! His first ever #1 song on there! I'm so pleased to see this song in there. I actually didn't expect this song to do it, but it has somehow managed to do it! Now, let's see how long it'll hold the spot.
