AT40: Sabrina Carpenter (2) Week Of April 12, 2025
As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it actually looks super amazing. We do have one debut that was going to be in my top songs of the year which was the best thing about it, and we also have another interesting Top 5. But I'm gonna get to that later on in this post like always. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! #1 Song This Week One Year Ago:
Sabrina Carpenter - Feather (1st and only week at #1)
This Week's Mover and Shaker:
LISA/Doja Cat/Raye - Born Again (+4) took a short biggest jump which I'm super glad to see. This really needed to get more airplay on there. Now, hopefully it'll get to the Top 20 soon.
Post Malone/Morgan Wallen - I Had Some Help, Kendrick Lamar - Squabble Up, Rose - Toxic Till The End and Myles Smith - Stargazing (-3) all took a short biggest drop this week. I'm actually fine with them except for Toxic Till The End because it really doesn't deserve it. But I know the rest of them have been in there for a while so I'm sure they're going to be out of here soon.
New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:
Shaboozey - Good News: After the huge success of A Bar Song (Tipsy), this song now debuts on there this week. And I know I put it in dark green because I know it was on the Hits 1 Weekend Countdown back in November last year, but I still like this song. As far as the song goes, it's definitely another phenomenal song. But definitely not as good as A Bar Song (Tipsy), but it's still phenomenal. With my opinion on it, the production was so phenomenal and the beat is very similar to A Bar Song (Tipsy) which was so interesting, and Shaboozey's vocals were super phenomenal, the lyrics were super nicely-written, and the chorus was so heavenly. Let's see how far this goes on there.
Doechii - Anxiety: The best debut this week. And of course I've noticed that this song actually samples Gotye and Kimbra's 2012 hit song Somebody That I Used To Know, mainly because it uses the same melody. And I've noticed that she originally posted this song on her YouTube channel back in 2019, but she has released it last month. Now, Somebody That I Used To Know was actually in my Top 10 Songs of 2012 in case you remember back when I reviewed it in my 2010's Billboard Hot 100 Decade-End Chart when my blog hit 100,000 pageviews a few years ago because that song was heavenly. So I was really looking forward to giving this new song a listen after it's release and it turns out, this has got to be the best song that I've ever heard from her. I know I said it because it samples a song that was in my top songs of the year back then. And of course this was actually the first song that samples a 2010's hit song to be on there which was super interesting. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a heavenly song and it's definitely a humongous step up from Denial Is A River and all of her other songs. With my opinion on this song, the production and samples were so heavenly, Doechii's vocals were super heavenly, I'm definitely a huge fan of the lyrics, and the chorus was extremely heavenly. And of course since I mentioned that Somebody That I Used To Know was in my Top 10 Songs of 2012 before, this new song is definitely going to end up in my Top 10 Songs of the year as well. Hopefully this should become a huge hit on there which I'm sure it's going to since it samples a super popular song from the 2010's. Let's see how far this goes on there.
My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:
5. SZA - BMF: I'm so pleased to see this song in the Top 5. Gosh, she really has been having a lot of Top 5 songs on there recently. Now, hopefully this should get to the Top 3 soon.
4. Chappell Roan - Pink Pony Club: I'm still waiting for this song to move up and get to the Top 3. But I'm sure hoping that next week it'll be in there. Come on, this really needs to do it!
3. Lady Gaga/Bruno Mars - Die With A Smile: Gosh, this song sure doesn't want to get out of the Top 3. But I know it's been in there for quite a long time so I think it's time for it to be out of here.
2. Gracie Abrams - That's So True: I'm glad that it's still at this spot, though I'd like it to stay in the Top 3 for at least a few more weeks or so. But let's see what happens next.
1. Sabrina Carpenter - Bed Chem: Holding the top spot for the 2nd week in a row. I'm so pleased that it's still in there. Gosh, you can't really stop this girl from being super popular on there! Now, let's see if it'll stay in there next week or not.
