AT40: The Weeknd (1) Week Of February 18, 2023

As far as the Super Bowl goes, I thought that it actually went great. I had a blast watching it. The Chiefs have won it 38-35. They made a field goal with 8 seconds left of the game which was actually amazing. Although I know the Eagles deserve better, but I'm pleased to see Patrick Mahomes get his second Super Bowl title. He deserves it! And I thought Chris Stapleton did an amazing job on the national anthem. He sounded so amazing in it. And Rihanna did a phenomenal job on the halftime show. She absolutely nailed it especially in her old songs. But yeah, it sure was fun watching it. Anyway. As far as the countdown goes, I thought that it looks so interesting. We do have another brand new #1 song on there, and that of course I'll get to it later on in this post like what I always do. But other than that, I don't have anything else to say here, so let's get to it! Before we get to this week's Fresh 40, here are the songs dropping out of the countdown this week.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:

Glass Animals - Heat Waves (2nd and final week at #1)

This Week's Mover and Shaker:

Sabrina Carpenter - Nonsense (+14) sure has been gaining lots of airplay on the pop radio charts this week and I'm so pleased to see it take the biggest jump this week. And I'm sure hoping that it should go to the Top 20 soon.

Although I'm not really that thrilled that Rosa Linn - Snap (-16) has managed to take the biggest drop all the way out of the Top 30 from the Top 20 as it has been losing some airplay recently. But I'm sure it's going to be out of here soon.

New Song/s on the AT40 this week are:

Kane Brown/Katelyn Brown - Thank God: Wow, we now have his wife collaborating with him on a song? That's so interesting! As far as the song goes, it's definitely a phenomenal song. With my opinion on this one, the production was super amazing, both Kane and Katelyn sounded so phenomenal and they really have great chemistry here, the lyrics were definitely what I'm a huge fan of, and the chorus was super phenomenal. Let's see how far this one gets on there.

Lonnie - One Night Stand: This is absolutely an outstanding song. Now, I've gone through my opinion on this one back when it debuted Hit Bound last month. With my opinion, the production was so outstanding, Lonnie's vocals were super outstanding and he actually sounds like a mix of Bazzi, which I think is so interesting. But other than that, the lyrics were so nice, and the chorus was so amazing. But yeah, such an outstanding song overall. Let's see how this one does on there.

Tiesto/Tate McRae - 10:35: The best debut this week. And of course this is actually the first track off of his upcoming album, which was actually super interesting. As far as the song goes, it's definitely a heavenly EDM song. But definitely not as good as The Motto, but it's still heavenly. With my opinion on this song, the production was super phenomenal, Tate's vocals were so heavenly, the lyrics were super interesting, and the chorus and drop both sound super heavenly. Hopefully this should become a hit on there.

My Opinions/My Thoughts On The Top 5:

5. Meghan Trainor - Made You Look: I'm still waiting for this song to be in the Top 3, but again I don't think it's ever going to happen on there though. But let's see what happens next.

4. Metro Boomin/The Weeknd/21 Savage - Creepin': It debuted the Top 5 this week. I'm super glad to see this song in there. Now, let's see if it'll go to the Top 3 soon.

3. Sam Smith/Kim Petras - Unholy: I actually did not expect this song to drop, but it might be it's last week in there though. But maybe I'd like it to stay in there for at least one more week or so.

2. David Guetta/Bebe Rexha - I'm Good (Blue): It dropped out of the top spot. But it really had a phenomenal run on there for a couple weeks. And I'm sure this is going to stay in the Top 3 maybe for a few more weeks longer and then be out of here.

1. The Weeknd - Die For You: I'm so pleased to see this song at the top spot. Gosh, he sure has been having a lot of #1 songs on there recently. Although I know this song should've been in there in 2016, but it's still amazing to see it do that. Now, let's see how long it could hold the spot.
